“I think Illinois State has a lot of potential in football that has been untapped. When it comes time to move up to [the Bowl series level], it will happen, I truly believe that with my heart. First, though, we have to build a football program to a stature where it’s consistently successful on a yearly basis. Coach Spack has exceeded that in his two years and I believe he’ll continue to grow the program to where it’s nationally recognized and as that happens, with stadium enhancements, then we could be in that position,” Bowman said.

We've got the consistency and we are starting to build a playoff program in Spack's first 4 years here (after 3-8 run in 2008 in Denver's last year). We should be going on 2 straight trips to the playoffs, but this coaching staff has embraced heart ache and gave us a magical run in 2012.
Coach Spack's comments during signing period last month were that "9-4 is pretty good, but its not good enough and we have to do better to get to the ultimate goal of being National Champions" via Redbird All Access.
It's nice to see how far we've come in just 4 short years, and where this coaching staff wants to take us. REDBIRD FANS are going to have an unbelievably nice venue to take in games this fall in the ongoing renovated Hancock. We have a lot of special things that are happening right now in Illinois State history both academically (average ACT score of 24.7 and grade point average of 3.54 for the 8,000 students admitted
http://www.pantagraph.com/news/local/edu...f887a.html) and athletically (Top 5 for 30 straight seasons and Top 3 for the last 22 seasons with the 2.47 aggregate score in 1996-97 the league standard for the All Sports Trophy
http://www.mvc-sports.com/awards/allsportsaward/). I am very proud to be an Alumni of this great institution and I hope others feel the same. The administrators, coaches, and players are all doing the right things. Now is the time for EVERY Redbird Fan, Student, Alumni, and citizen of Bloomington/Normal to support OUR teams and facility upgrades. Better things are in our future with the leaders we have, but the time is now.
I recently donated some $ to the Hancock Stadium Renovation. I also heard a poster on here say that the start of the Horseshoe will not be completed anymore. I take this as a challenge to all those mentioned above to step up in anyway you can. We've come too far in just 4 years for us not to keep our foot on the pedal. I'm asking others to reach out to your friends/family and ask them to think of donating $100 or more and spread it over a couple months, Commit to buy season tickets, if you are a Business think of advertising. Word of mouth and passion is far more reaching then a brochure or email ever will be.
