RE: Daytona Crash
I've sat in the very 1st row at Michigan International Speedway around 12-13 times, and Daytona & Charlotte once a piece, and I have thought about this type of thing happening while I was sitting there. When you see cars going by at 180+ MPH, only 10-15 feet away from you, you would have no time to react. I have no idea what I would do in that type of situation.

You went to Toledo, you most likely would have stuck your head through the fence to see what all the commotion was about! 05-stirthepot

That was my intention. I'm a failure.

RE: Daytona Crash
I sat in about row 20 for a few years at the 500 across from near the end of pit road. The security always used to chase people away from the fence (now I know why) but always had their back to the track. Guessing at leas a couple of the security got hurt.

I saw the tire in the stands in another video. In this one, you can see it flying into the stands. That is unfortunately the killer. A 75lb object flying at you at 150+ MPH, doesn't give you much time or a chance.

And if you went to a football game you would most likely walk onto the field and walk right into a 300# DL trying to make a tackle...

And if you went to a baseball game, you would most likely try to catch a 100+ MPH pitch with you teeth...

more exciting than our basketball team!

Our moderators are slackers nowadays. But it's the offseason for the board, gotta cut them some slack.

You could just click the 'Report' button and request that it be moved to S&N...
