Akeem Richmond- FINALLY
Lebo woke up. Well, after we had two season ending injuries to players he was playing ahead of him, and he had no other choice but to play him. Richmond (unlike Adonis Thomas from the other thread I am mocking )actually has been killing it all year in his limited run.

He's averaging 21.4 ppg in the last 4 games since the last injury only playing 25.1 minutes per game.

He's also now 11th in the nation in 3's made a game and has still only has played 17.1 minutes per game this year. To put that in perspective all but one player ahead of him plays well over 30 minutes, several have even more than doubled his minutes, so to say we have the most prolific 3 point shooter in the nation is not a stretch at all.

Just going to go ahead and put you guys on alert for tourney time because we actually got better with the injuries since it's forced Lebo to put him on the court 25 minutes a game because we are a much better team with him on the court. We were +11 as a team per every 100 possession with him on the court before this game even.

I was stationed at Fort Bragg when he was in Highschool. He is a really solid player. He's from Southern Lee HS I believe. I was living in Sanford. He was expected to do big things. I always knew he was a great player.

The guy is honestly a JJ Reddick/Step Curry level 3 point shooter. Yes I said it, he is only 6ft though.

The pace he has hit 3's at this year when he's actually got on the court and the percentage he is shooting them at are actually superior to either of them. I don't think you will find anyone with 233 career three's made in their junior year and that has averaged under 22 minutes per game in his career. The pace he hits at when he's played is all time good. Also he doesn't turn it over either. Since 2008 only 5 players that have played college basketball have a lower career turnover percentage. Another elite aspect he brings to the table.

He's a hell of an offensive player. Probably the best shooter I have ever seen in an ECU uniform. It just leaves you with a lot of tough defensive match ups to have him and Paul in the backcourt together. It will actually work out better for us next year when the Robinson kid comes in who's a 6'4 PG. Richmond just gets in trouble when he has to try to guard 6'4+ guys at the 2 guard.

He's not a great defender, but I'd love to have Richmond. I wanted him out of HS and I wanted him again when he transferred. The A10 has a rule that you have to sit out or 2 years if you transfer to another conference team though, so I knew he wasn't coming here.

Was he playing behind Bowden this year? If so, lulz.

RE: Akeem Richmond- FINALLY
His defensive liabilities are way overblown. Before today's game per every 100 possessions this season as a team ECU was giving up...

100.7 points with PRC on the court
102.8 points with Richmond on the court
106.1 points with Bowden on the court

+/-'s ECU as a team per ever 100 possessions before today was...

+11.2 points with Richmond on the court
+2.0 points with Bowden on the court
-3.6 with PRC on the court

Not to mention Richmond was the #11th most productive player per minute in CUSA before today. The guy is a stud and clearly should have always been our top SG anyway, Lebo's rotations have just been #$%^ed all season and last year too with Kemp on the bench Niner National. Anyone with the potential to drop 22ppg in 25 minutes over a 4 game stretch had zero business being our "9th" man before the injuries and only playing 15 minutes a game. I've banged my head the last two years over Lebo rotations when he had Kemp buried on the bench last year while he was one of the most productive players in CUSA too. At least now we finally have a chance to meet our potential to close the season.

Is there a site with all these stats or do you compile them yourself?

Prince Williams looked good at PG today too and he's also 6-4. Hopefully we will cross match those two PG's with Richmond next year like UTEP did J. Stone with Culpepper. I could easily see Richmond leading CUSA in scoring next season and the nation in 3's a game if he gets actual starter minutes. We'll have to have his scoring too with Kemp and Paul gone.

Sorry, didn't mean that he was a terrible defender, just that his size makes him a bit of a liability. His offensive production more than makes up for it though, especially considering those playing in front of him are not lock down defenders.

Yeah that's my hope as well. It's just hard to have 2 guys around 6 foot in at the same time. I'm actually pleased with the way PRC has been playing the last 2 games. He's going to need to start living up to his potential next year and be a 8-10 ppg guy next season. With Stith and White coming in along with Straughn returning we'll have a little more size at the 3 than we do right now. When Kemp isn't at the 3 we are way too small at that spot.

Yeah I know what you meant, we are not a good defensive team this year. I meant relative to the others ahead of him we do no worse as a team when he's on the court. We are 18th nationally in PPG though and he's a big part of why even in limited minutes.

Updated +/-'s: ECU as a team per ever 100 possessions...

+16.3 points with Richmond on the court
+2.0 points with Bowden on the court
-1.6 with PRC on the court

Richmond also has the 10th Highest Player Efficiency Rating in CUSA. It's really a joke Lebo had him buried on the bench as our 9th man up until a couple games ago and really frustrating to watch all season. We probably win 3 or 4 more games he was hot in if he was playing more. If we had no injuries we lose the last 2 this week. The impact he makes on our team is clear.

I agree 100% there. I think AR will get a lot of PT next season. There's no excuse not to. I like the lineup of Paul, PRC and AR to close out this year. Good combination of floor leadership, D and quick offensive firepower. AR can really light it up in a hurry.

That would be a solid starting lineup to go with Armstrong and Kemp. I dont know what realistic expectations should be as far as postseason, but im hoping for the best and with a strong push at the end of the season could possibly make the NIT. Its far from a given but I dont see us winning the Tournament unless we get real real hot from 3 and go on a crazy streak. I bet we are kicking ourselves with the UTEP and USM games and how they ended. Just win baby and let the chips fall where they may.

We have zero chance in at the NIT at this point unfortunately. It's autobid or CBI this year. We could have probably been in the mix for the NIT or even NCAA bubble if Lebo had played Richmond starter minutes after he first saved us vs UNCG. If you want to to talk about games that hurt look at games like @ UNC where we lost by 6 and Richmond had 17 points in 19 minutes or close losses @UMass, Campbell, Memphis etc where he was blazing and still played limited minutes. Play him 5 or 10 minutes more and we probably win a few of them and it's a different season.
