"After last year's scheduling snafu with West Virginia, the Seminoles ended up learning an important lesson. When it came to making the Labor Day opener with Pitt come to fruition, Spetman and his staff requested the ACC and ESPN work specifically with Wofford to make the switch.

Thirteen months ago, FSU was on its own as it had to replace West Virginia for a game scheduled for last September. The Seminoles talked to more than 70 schools before adding Savannah State.

FSU ended up winning the weather-altered, mid-September game 55-0. The game was ended in the middle of the third quarter.

Due to the ACC's efforts, Spetman said FSU will not have to pay Wofford the $475,000 cancellation fee that was outlined in the original game contract. FSU and Wofford agreed to play one another in July 2011. In a separate fee, the Seminoles were going to pay the Terriers $475,000 for the appearance."

The quotes around fan is just hilarious to me. So you think nobody can be a fan unless they went to the school? And you think there can't be any football fans under 18 because most aren't in college at that age?

Did you play football at Wake? Because I guarantee there are people who didn't go there that can have a closer link to the footbal program than a joe schmo student who did nothing with the actual football team.

The rationale that you can't have a connection to a college unless you went there is ridiculous. And it is even dumber to think you have less knowledge of an athletic program just because you didn't go there. Academic students don't have any more access than fans outside the college.

Just stop with this bs. It is beyond stupid. I went to FAU and you will never see me on the CUSA board saying other opinions don't matter on my school since they didn't go there. Nor will I say they can't have any grasp about stuff with the athletics at the school just because they didn't go there.

I for one am relieved that the Florida Altantic alumnus' fear that Florida State University might have to pay Wofford College a cancellation fee proved to be unfounded and that the situation was handled with ease by the ACC office.

Where did I say anything about the fee? Are you really this stupid?

But yeah continue with this garbage "logic" you use in determing who can be a fan and know what they are talking about. I am sure your communications degree at Wake gives you real insight into how the football program operates. Can't get that knowledge as a Wake fan who didn't buy books there

Marge did.

You're just the one who is sensitive about being a "fan" and felt the need to respond.

Looks like Pitt will be replacing the Villanova game with an Oct 19th game against Old Dominion.

So prior to the schedules being released, we know the dates of 5 games

Sept 2nd - FSU
Sept 14 - New Mexico
Oct 19- Old Dominion
Oct 26 - @ Navy
Nov 9th - ND

Do you know where that poster went to school at all? Besides you said FAU alumnus right in your post so your "logic" once again doesn't work out.

Your "fan" stuff has been blabbered on here towards me for months. It isn't being sensitive to it. You know exactly who you are going after.

Your "logic" still makes no sense at all and I am still waiting to hear all the special insight you gained by being a book buyer at Wake.

RE: Pitt vs FSU set for Labor Day
Let's see. I drew a paycheck from our athletic department while I was at Wake. Traveled on the plane with the football team to our bowl game in Hawaii and had dinner with our coaching staff while in Honolulu. I was required by the athletic department to attend all of the official events and appearances leading up to the bowl game. I was also required to attend all of our home games and many of our away games in both football, men's basketball and women's basketball. My position also paid me to attend two ACC men's basketball tournaments and one women's ACC tournament.

In basketball, I didn't travel with them as much but did fly with the basketball team to Kansas City for the NCAA tournament. Stayed in the same hotel and spoke with the team members and coaching staff before and after the games both there and in New York City for the NIT.

By living on campus, I lived with our baseball team and the wide recievers, offensive and defensive lines from our football team. I sat next to our running back in anthropology class and our star kicker in history class. Routinely talked about the program, coaching staffs and athletic department with all of those guys. Made friends with several athletes who went on to the NBA, MLB, NFL and more importantly for this discussion college coaching staffs and athletic departments.

Also while I was a student, I sat with our athletic director in Ernie Shore Field and discussed our basketball coaching search with him.

Besides getting to know the players, coaches and athletic department personel while I was there, several of my non-athlete friends have since went on to get fulltime jobs at the University or are tied in with the upper levels of our booster club.

That's just scratching the surface, but I'm sure some App State grad that bought a t-shirt at Hanes Mall knows just as much about the Wake Forest Athletic Department as I do.

Maybe you are an exception but who knows? Unlike you, I don't care to queston your fandom or anyone elses. You may be a great employee of the athletic department. Good for you. But are all Wake fans who went to the school given this access? Don't think so. There are people outside of the school who can know more about the teams at Wake than the students. That was my whole point.

But hey I am not a true fan by random message board Wake fan. Don't know how I will avoid crying myself to sleep. Thanks for the life story on your Wake connections though. Appreciate it as much as you appreciate my connections to FSU.

I mean I just bought an FSU tshirt and you ignore everything I explained about my connections. Unlike you though, I will just assume you wouldn't lie even though this is the internet after all.

unsolicited advice to Pittsburgh athletic director:
NEVER, EVER schedule another game with Villainova.
In ANY sport.
