Akron looking impressive up 37-23 at half. Zips are dominating in the paint.

JAR looks packed, way to go Akron. I don't want to speak too soon, but I doubt lakebison talks much around here tomorrow.

Akron really plays better when the pressure is on. Once they got a big lead, they fell asleep and started playing well again once it got close.

So is that Zeke dunk going to be on the Sportscenter top 10?

By the way, we had record student attendance at the JAR tonight.

Also, Akron is now one of 4 Division 1 basketball programs to have 22+ wins for the past 8 years. (The other three? Duke, Gonzaga, and Kansas).

YES. As was the Tree Treadwell dunk 30 seconds later.

Make that 5. Memphis is the 5th.

I tuned in Sports Center this morning and they already changed the top 10. I at least got to see the Marshall monster dunk. I really don't think it was necessary for the refs to call a technical on that one.

I think you should start a thread about how big of liars Akron basketball is.

Ohio's big marketing push for the Akron game is to have more students in the house than the Zips can hold in their gym.

Not trying to start something. Just pointing out that the stat mentioned is incorrect. It's funny that Memphis and Akron have never played in basketball but have been battling it out for the longest winning streak for the last few weeks. You are one up on us now but we play today at noon.

For reference, I was just joking about a couple of other threads on this board.

Okay, but I am still pulling for Ohio next week. We played them earlier in the year and a win can help boost our RPI. I think that Akron will probably win though depends on how well Ohio shoots the 3 ball.

This is a big game. It's a must win for OU. I hope you draw well.

The 2007-8 season was vacated. It still happened though so I guess it depends on whether you include that season or not in the stats.

I imagine OU will be highly motivated to win given the loss in the first game. That and the large home crowd will make this a real challenge for Akron and it should be one heck of a game.
