RE: Tournament Chances
I'm not convinced UC gets in.

I didn't know their rpi had fallen to 48 until I saw it during the game.

USF isn't going to help much. And UC would be a team I think is susceptible to losing in the first round of the BE Tourney too.

Uh.......we'll see about that. Plenty of time to keep sucking their way out of it. And my prediction is based on them sucking against USF with either a very close win or loss and then a first round loss in the BE Tourney. This team is circling the drain big time.

RE: Tournament Chances
Take a look at the resumes of the teams around us. None have nearly as many top 50 and top 100 wins. They all have losses to teams outside the top 100, and we have none.

Locked in to no worse than a 10. Beat USF and Villanova should get us to an 8.

RE: Tournament Chances
The thing with UC is they are consistent. No bad losses and at the same time no big surprising wins. 7-10 seed

I think the win at Pitt was definitely a surprise. We were 6 point underdogs.

Perhaps. I was thinking more of beating a top team when they were ranked high type win.

Regardless of the limitations, I do think whatever 7 or 8 seed we play is going to be absolutely miserable playing us.

I'm not sure UC could beat anyone in the Big East tourney right now.

Cash hitting some shots is a good sign. The turnovers today killed us, and is somewhat of an aberation this year.

Take care of business against USF and then we got our rally uni's for the post season.

RE: Tournament Chances
Not to state the obvious but UofL is a really bad matchup for UC because for UC it's like playing a clone as UofL is similar on the offensive and defensive end only with better athletes. They do what UC does only better. UC had no advantages in the game to exploit.

When it was 37 all and UC had the ball and a chance to take the lead and didn't, I knew the game was over then. UofL ran off 6 quick points and the route was on.

UC should get into the NCAA tourney and depending on the matchup could win a game. But overall the season has been disappointing. If there was a bright spot in the UofL game it was that Cash scored.

RE: Tournament Chances
Hey I want UC in the tourney but I'm not sure where they'll stand on Selection Sunday. We're rightly assuming a win over USF however the RPI could worsen after that game; the Bulls being the worst team in the BE. Couple that with a probable first round loss in MSG (Villanova is the projected opponent and they're playing well) and the bubble appears. I was never so shocked as that year Andy Kennedy coached and UC was left out of the field. I guess I've never been as certain as the "experts" since that time. RPI of 48 isn't a great spot for feeling confident.

This team does not have the resume of that AK team, HOWEVER, there are more tournament teams now.

I am thankful we got to play UConn without Napier. that game will look like a better win than it is, and because UConn is not being evaluated for purposes of tourney invite/seeding I doubt the committee will think much of it. I don't think we beat UConn that afternoon if they have Napier. Now all of a sudden the streak looks even worse heading into that game at USF. UC better not slip up there. The level of play down the stretch has been downright brutal.

I'm not convinced UC is in at this point. They must beat USF. One win in the league tournament and I think they would be ok.

If they lost to USF and lose in the league tournament I think they would be in trouble. There are a lot of mid-major teams having good seasons and the committee may try to use the opportunity to get more of them in this year.
