RE: NIU vs Purdue...
It will be interesting to see how the OOC portion of this season unfolds. As evidenced by Purdue highlighting us on their schedule, we are on the radar of many teams now and we won't be able to sneak up on the bigger programs like in past years. Hopefully our program stays hungry and takes care of business. It is a different style of winning when you are expected to win versus playing the role of the underdog.

Purdue will be on the heals with our O, D needs to step up and win the game. our D shows up and puts our O in good field position, we will win the game....

Pretty much what we did in '09 when we beat 'em, granted it was special teams as much as it was D that gave us good field position.

We won the 09 game because we ran for 280 yards. We also ran for 297 yards against Minnesota the year after.

Gosh I love punching Big 10 teams in the mouth.

remember the fake punt on our 20 yard line, loved it, needed to do it to win.

I'll tip my cap to JK on that one. Pretty ballsey call.

Purdue also muffed/fumbled a couple punt returns that day which really helped.

True, but one of those two fumbles led to the Reed Cunningham TD just before halftime, so it kind of evens out.

This season's home schedule is arguably the best in school history. It includes 2012 national champion runner-up and intrastate rival Notre Dame (Sept. 14), Orange Bowl participant Northern Illinois (Sept. 28) and Big Ten Conference powers Nebraska (Oct. 12) and Ohio State (Nov. 2).

We are a circle game on EVERYONE'S schedule. The Orange Bowl NIU Huskies are coming to town, next week the NIU Huskies with their All American QB arrive..... you get the drift.

Next year if we take off ANY week we could lose because the team across from us will be rock hard ready to play.
