Snow!!! Did anyone else get it? We did in Phoenix
It is cactus league time and teams are here, but we got snow that covered the fields and even the golf course next to where I live had it greens turn into whites. Really strange seeing such here in Mesa Az. this time of year when it is usually around 70 degrees. Wondered if any of you folks were getting strange weather for this time of year.

I took a picture of the golf course next to my place, but I can't seem to get it from my camera to my computer.

We got ours about a month ago...I don't know why I'd feel surprised about the sight of snow in Phoenix, having seen it in Flagstaff many years ago while driving cross-country. Been to Phoenix before, beautiful city...

You must not be too familiar with Arizona then. Flag is so different from Phoenix and Tucson in many ways since Phoenix is a desert valley and Flag is more mountain laden. Flagstaff has a much colder climate due to it's attitude and terrain than Phoenix which is a desert and runs up to 20 degrees warmer. Payson is on the rim and about an hour away but it will have colder temps, rain and snow when Phoenix is still in high temps. Snow staying on the ground, especially like yesterday is as rare if not more so, than snow on the Mississippi Coast. I have been in this Valley for about 6 years and is the first time I have seen such snow accumulation, and the woman that I live with has been here since the 70s and she tells me it the most she can recall seeing in a very long time. So your statement is true for Flag but way wrong for Phoenix.

A few flakes, after the 65 mph gusts slowed down.

It was ugly.

The only thing strange about our current weather is that we managed to get some moisture. We are pretty snowed under in Kansas.

Strangely we got almost no snow (4") and it's quite balmy (27°F) here in Detroit. The sleet and freezing rain I drove in this morning were fairly light. Another mild winter without even one day of freezing fog and only 4 50+ car pileups on the Interstate.

7.5 inches, the largest snowfall in a very mild winter.
