I enjoy these gameday threads. Good job, and I hope we beat you Saturday.
Well, if we don't, Memphis wraps up the regular season title.

Yes, yes, it is. Seeing how Tulsa and ECU are both 6-6, they are tied for fifth.
I understand that ECU beat Tulsa, which will give the Pirates the tiebreaker if they finish the season tied. But for now, they are both in fifth.

They are tied for 5th place in conf but ECU would be the 4 seed based on tie breakers, if the tourney started today. UCF is ineligible.

Unless you want to know who's in 5th right now. ECU controls their destiny in the battle for fifth; Tulsa does not.

Both have first round byes as of right now because UCF is ineligible, so it is kind of pointless. They will just end up playing each other again in the second round, if things hold true through the end of the season. Gonna be hard to beat Tulsa at home twice.

? Memphis is not in the West.
Nope, which is why we play them twice every year.
Well now I'm just confused. The guy you quoted is a Memphis fan.
*Just when you think Tulsa is about to really get on a roll, they drop a game to a team you would think they could handle at home.
He thought Tulsa should handle us based on their winning streak. Our record would be significantly better if we didn't have to play in the East. I think Memphis, UCF, and USM are 3 of the top 5 most talented teams in the league.
Ok got you. Sorry I'm a little slow tonight.
I don't know what the line was but I would have said it was about a toss up. Not overly offended that he thought Tulsa should win but I get where you are coming from. At the same time Tulsa has yet to play either SMU or Rice (the bottom 2 teams from the west) a second time yet. We have played UCF and Memphis twice each were they have played UTEP twice so we played a tougher schedule there. We have each played USM once.
I personally think ECU is underrated this year but I have seen every game. For a Memphis fan who has maybe only seen us lose to them by double digits each time I could maybe see it. Though Memphis beat Tulsa by ~30

Based on his history, I wonder how committed Larry B. is to the program. I know he's not there long term, but I thought he'd probably be around for 3 years or so. I'd like to see him build a solid foundation for a young coach to build from, and he can still do that.

I can accept the way you are listing it. I wouldn't want to compute the tiebreakers after each game night. But understand that you shouldn't argue with someone who brings up the tiebreaker issue. It is a valid argument.
