UT women at CMU..MAC championship game?
Probably the biggest game of the regular season this year. Sunday at 2:00 on STO. CMU won at Toledo in the first MAC games of the year. UT has not lost since. CMU lost at BG and Ball State. If Central wins this game and both teams win their final two games, they would tie for the regular season championship at 14-2 but CMU would have the tiebreaker by virtue of sweeping the Rockets. If Toledo wins they would have a two game lead with two games to go. Ball State has just 3 league losses, and they still play at both Toledo and CMU, so they could still change things by winning one or both of those games.

Can't remember a more important regular season stretch of games on the women's side. Miami took out BG again in the East after BG took out Akron and the action is fast and furious in both divisions, but the West has all the leaders playing each other to end the season. Should be very exciting.

Courtney Osborn had a monster game vs BG today, as she hit 12 out of 17 fg's including 7 out of 9 threes and scored 33 points, which is a season high for any MAC player. In analyzing the MACEast, Akron has 4 losses, Miami and BG 5. Miami plays at Akron next Sunday on STO, and the winner of that game will probably be the MACEast champ, assuming no upsets in other games. Miami's two wins over BG should give it all the possible tiebreakers, but if Akron beats Miami, they should win it all by themselves.

With games left against Akron and BG, Buffalo still has an outside shot in the east at 7-6... The Bulls and Miami did split their season series.

I must say I was quite shocked at UB's success this season. First-year head coach and Buffalo was picked to finish dead last.

Both UB and Ball State have new coachs this year, they started off slowly with poor nonconference records, but have looked strong in conference play. I guess it is still possible that if UB wins out and gets to 10-6, they could end up in a 3 or 4 way tie.

Central up 28-22 at the 8 and under TO. Good crowd, lively atmosphere, both teams are up and down the court, and there are really good players all over the court and coming off the bench. Basically, it looks like a battle of top 20 teams.

9-0 run by UT cuts the lead to 2 at the 8 and under TO, CMU getting into foul trouble too. 57-55 Central. A battered and bruised Shaffir with 20 leading the charge.

22-2 run now at Toledo is pulling away. Shaffier with 27, Richardson dominating the paint, and UT forcing turnovers on almost every defensive possession. UT 68-59, about 3 minutes to go.

Total domination by Toledo in the last 9 minutes, 76-63 Rockets. Toledo will be the MAC regular season champion, they may need one more win to make it official.

And one of the losses by three at one loss Dayton. But the rest of our schedule has been weak and hurts us in the ratings and RPI. Little chance for an NCAA bid without winning the MAC Championship.
