If Fox was willing to shell out $1M a year for the Big West, would they shell out $1M per for a New York City-based one-bid league? Show games on YES, maybe fill some spots on FoxSports2?

Would schools jump for about $100,000 in TV money and some local exposure? I figure you could find about 10 schools in the tri-state area to go for it.

You probably take over someone's existing conference (MAAC most likely), so you'd have a couple of outlier teams.

Isnt that basically the MAAC? :-)

I think a Big Apple Tournament could be a great annual or once every few year event.

I can't remember if its always at least 1 local team but last year's Holiday Festival at MSG featured 4 local teams (SJU, Fordham, Iona, Rutgers). Not quite winner takes all but a good showcase of local schools. If I remember correctly, it wasn't always a one day doubleheader but a true tournament.

Yeah i went this year. Expand it to a true 8 team tournament and just have local(ish) schools
