Silly as it sounds the MACC does not as a conference game. So yes the NIU record was 7-1.

Though how many times was NIU a co-division champion and we don't give a crap? We either made it to Detroit or we didn't.

Truthfully before the last two years we cared plenty.
We have made it 4 times to Detroit. Twice as MAC co-champs.

Under Joe Novak it was a very big deal.
Remember 2003 when we went 10-2 without a Bowl game.
In those days we got 24000-26000 people in Huskie stadium.
Non-MAC big AQ victories were a major reason for our ranking and NIU going to a BCS bowl.
