S&D Championships
CUSA Championships start tomorrow. WKU should be a favorite on the men's swimming. Kunkel is a man on a mission. It is still a tough field.

RE: S&D Championships
I didn't think Conference USA sponsored Men's Swimming...

Or at least Old Dominion is/was looking for a home for our team since joining.

I don't know much about S&D except that we are really good at it. But this article lists it, and we had guys wearing cusa hoodies yesterday on campus. I was really excited/confused until I remembered we are S&D...

I hear the Marshall women's team is quite nice. Though some of its members require a carrot to perform at a peak level. COGS

I think that CUSA sanctions/sponsors women's Swimming and Diving but not men's

I guess WKU got their CUSA invite after all. It's basically like ECU's Big East invite, right?

That was my understanding as well.

The page on CUSA's website for the event seems to list times for men's races but still calls it the Women's Swimming Championships

I can't remember her name but I know WKU had a swimmer who did very well in the Olympics last summer.

You're right. CUSA needs to update the website under the "Sports" pull down menu. Men's swimming and diving isn't listed but women's is.

Your like clearly shows CUSA Championships are the weekend of 2/20 in Houston TX and there are men and women's events listed.

Perhaps WKU splits its men/women's squads into separate conferences as WKU's S&D schedule shows:
-SBC Women's Championships 3/2 Dallas TX
-CUSA Men's Championships 2/20 Houston TX

It is a bit of a bizarre situation. All of the Swimmers and Divers of the Week for the conference have names that appear to be women.

RE: S&D Championships
There could be a possibility that CUSA sponsors women's only. But they run a men's event that is open to teams who are independent. thus the women's is truly a conference championship, while the men are simply getting one more chance to qualify for NCAA's? I dunno but it is very weird.... If cusa adds WKU will there be enough schools with men's teams for the conference to sponsor it? I know odu mentioned they have men's.

Also Claire won a gold medal swimming the butterfly of the 4x100 medley. she trains with the team (foreseeably until rio '16) and acts as a GA I believe. she s one of the most down to earth girls I know. really is amazing.

SMU men's are looking good. great lead after 5. wku needs to step it up. as I suspected the men's side is an invitational tournament, F_U is also swimming and doing quite well. smu leads with 136 points followed by...ecu 101 fau 99 wku 88.
