Jameel Poteat Transferring
Per a few reports on twitter... No big surprise. He seemed pretty upset with his lack of playing time and our RB heavy recruiting class probably didn't sit well with him either. Oh well, best of luck to him wherever he ends up.

Shame. I was hoping/thinking he would step into the starting role this year. He has some power, which I think would translate well into TT's pro-style offense. Exciting as he may be, RDAIV is not an every down back and is more suited for the spread.

RE: Jameel Poteat Transferring
This has been pretty much assured for the past 2-3 months, heck I posted about it in late December. Glad he's finally found himself a new home. He was never really going to catch on here, he was a classic case of a 4* guy thinking he deserved the spot light rather than earning it.

Not really losing too much to be honest, Green and Buckley were already ahead of him on the depth charts of both coaching staffs.

Bingo. I can't see him getting much playing time at any other BCS programs either. I wish he would have at least stuck it out through the spring to see where he was at on the depth chart. Our JC RBs aren't on campus yet. It'll just be Green and Buckley for the spring. I don't expect RDA4 to play much RB if at all in this new system.

From what little I saw, I liked Green and buckley better.

No reason to bad mouth the young man, or any other transfer, simply because he wanted a chance to play or was uncomfortable in the local situation. Thank you Jameel for your efforts.

Yep. I wish him the best. Not everyone is going to hit it off with a new coach.

Reports were he didn't hit it off with the old coach, either. Good luck to him.

I really like Green and Buckley...

bottom line is, we have some depth here and if you don't come ready to EARN the spot, it's not going to happen. i think this is what happened to Mr. Poteat.

Yea IIRC he was passed over by Green on gameday because he also surpassed him in practice. CBJ was big on players giving 110% in practice and rewarding them with playing time. Green did that apparently and Poteat did not.

I think he is making a mistake. He was due more time this year and should remain with the school. Transferring will only require him to sit out one long year to wait for another chance.

RE: Jameel Poteat Transferring
that's interesting. Probably a good move, actually. PSU has holes on their roster and that's probably a good spot for him to see some PT and be close to home

I wish him best of luck. Too bad things didn't work out better here.

Green and Buckley took advantage of situation and I think the juco pair will add to really fierce battle. Which can only be good for the team.

RE: Jameel Poteat Transferring
If he couldn't crack the 2-deep at UC, what makes him think he can at PSU? If it was truely lack of effort on his part, he will not find that changing schools will help him much - unless he changes his attitude. The timing of his decision is particularily strange IMO. He had a real chance to start anew with a new staff and new offense (which he would've been a perfect fit). Oh well, time will tell if he made the right move or not. As for UC, they'll be fine - a competent RB will do well with what we have coming back for O-line.

Yeah Chris ! And he also didn't play our best players either! See Kay..Hooey..Murray
Etc. There is going to be some real interesting turnover this spring!
One of the biggest comments CTT made in his second presser was "it doesn't matter who it is, or history, "the best players will start" I thought that it was a huge statement on his part, and intriguing that he was compelled to make that comment early in the process !
