By the way, what happened to GW and, for that matter, St Joe's? They both had two of the most epic mid-major seasons ever about only a decade ago. Didn't translate into a big tourney run, but didn't both go an unbelievable amount of games before losing a game? Not that either of them would be candidates considering their location.

St Joes did it 2003-04(my gosh that sounds so long ago). 27-0 before lost 1st rd of conference tourney. Then went 3-1 in NCAA losing in elite 8.

GW was 26-2 in 2005-06. played only 2 NCAA teams though. Only 8 seed, lost 2nd rd of conference tourney.

I loved that St. Joe's team with Jameer Nelson & Delonte West. Pat Carroll could really shoot too. I hated the last second loss to Oklahoma State. I think it was a 2 point loss on a late 3. I desperately wanted to see them make it to the Final Four. They were a great story, an undersized team from a small school trying to crash a party where there were only reservations for teams from power conferences. Even when they were #1, everyone was just waiting for them to lose. Never gave them the credit they deserved. With the terrific NBA career he's had, Nelson has gone on to show everyone just how good he is.
