I'm not sure, but trading New Orleans for Rustin might not be considered a promotion by everyone.....and I don't have anything bad to say about Rustin at all.

I think the OP is talking about football programs (although I might be mistaken) and not locations. I know Tulane isn't exactly a football team that you look forward to playing for a conference title against and having been at USM when we played Tulane (before C-USA) it really was just another game we had to be careful not to be to confident and sleep walk through. La Tech is a school USM has played often since 1923 and is one of our oldest rivals. Games recently have been tough and close and La Tech has posted better records than Tulane in football. I think due to these facts that is what the OP meant.
As for New Orleans it is in my opinion the greatest city on the face of the earth, but then I am bias since I was born there and lived close enough to it through most of the time I have been alive, that I have never felt anything but a part of New Orleans. So any town trying to replace N.O. in my book as far as cities goes, is going to fail. However if I am going to look at the game which is the focal point then let's go to Ruston.

If you don't like it, then don't respond. It's pretty easy. No different than some of the stuff your ECU companions engage in. If you want to be baby sat then head over to the SunBelt board.....
You just had to drag me in didnt you. Well, DID YOU KNOW that La Tech averaged only $144,900 in ticket revenue for EACH of their home football games for fiscal year ending June, 2012, the year they went out to the Poinsetta Bowl? If you divide that by $20 (high school ticket prices) it would indicate a PAID attendance of 7245. If even half of their 6500 full time undergrads attended then added to that they only had an average attendance of some 10,500. Must remember Tech does not maintain official attendance records.
One might be proud of that but I cant see it as being all that much better than Tulane. C-Belt, if they wanted a Louisiana school, dropped the ball by giving the nod to Tech rather than ULL which has them beaten in most all respects. Regardless, this wont be a concern of my much longer, thats why I am just sitting back and watching the flow.

I'm not questioning Tech's attendance or being critical, but I just wonder how any program can't maintain official attendance records with all of the reporting that's required with college athletics. That just seems bizarre.

eager - Why is anything associated with La Tech at this point "a concern of yours" at all?
What's been done, is done. Tech is in CUSA.
Are you just waiting for the day USM leaves? It sounds like that is what you're saying. That might happen.......and if it's decided that it's the best course of action for them, then so be it. I know that Tech fans have a high respect for USM and would hate to see them go, though.
It's been said over and over, but I've never seen one fan so consumed with another school.
