I've tried not to be too pessimistic, but this team has brought it out of me. You just can't count on this team in any way. I hope we can fix this by next year, or the great season we've all felt would come may never come to pass.

We looked absolutely terrible last night. It looked like ASU was playing an NAIA team. Does that mean we can't come back and play well in our last 5 games? Not neccesarily. But, it will be difficult without a team leader, which I don't believe we have at this point.

Where the hell was Coach Crass last night when we needed him? He evidently didn't get the team fired up at the half.

I thought Coach might put Teddy basketball in for a minute or two in the first half again, but that didn't happen.

One thing I will say, though, is Will was one tough kid for going out there sick as a dog and still fighting for nearly double digits in both rebounding and points. This plus playing last year in a separated shoulder, and he is one tough SOB. Hats off to him. Too bad the other players couldn't use the example he was setting to inspire themselves.

What is ok? .500? We might wind up breaking even this year. Or do you mean next year? Don't see indication so far that we will suddenly develop a killer instinct or any desire to win whatsoever, except from Will.

Unless my guess is wrong, we will have at least one juco brute in the lineup next season. Maybe two.

But I would say we stand a good chance with Big Joe here.

I'll go out on a limb here after last night's game. I think Javes is turning the corner and learning to play the game. He was close to being a brute last night. Had what I would consider his best game as a Trojan. He fought hard for rebounds, played tough defense, blocked and altered shots and scored. Free throw shooting is his Achilles heel, but he still has time to improve if he works hard at it. I would assign Dillard, Gillon, Osse or Hagins to work with him on his release. Those four all have very good form on their shots.
