Has anyone looked at the progress of the student fields. Due to be done in Aug and its looks like a great addition to the campus.

Here is the flicker page with some pictures. Has not been updated since November. Right now on the secondary CPC cam you can tell that they installed the polls for the lights already.

Also I wonder how long or if they ever implement phase II which involves several paths, a parking lot next to the current Stevenson lot an additional athletic field with what appears to be a pool or the area could also be used for a small ice complex.

If it's too far to walk to a basketball game, won't it be too far to walk to these fields?

The NIU campus is really stretched out. Has to be a couple miles from the convo to the music building and engineering on the kishwaukee? Very nice project though!

Are these where the old intramural / rugby / lacrosse fields were.. if so, obviously it won't be a problem.

approximately 1.5 walking miles from the Convo entrance to the Business building entrance. Two farthest buildings on campus. (not including utility buildings)

I was told that there is actually a quidditch club along with a multi university competitive organization with tournaments. Its growing rapidly.

These fields are going to be a help to our bigger club teams like lacrosse and rugby. Does NIU have a women's field hockey club?

A fun fact! The first ever televised quidditch tournament took place at UT about a month ago between the UT club and the Bowling Green club on BSCN or another regional network. Apparently BGSU is pretty darn good at quidditch. But that is a good thing because they dont beat UT in any other sports.

I don't know about that, but they do have brooms. I met some of the ISU team on the train coming back from C2E2 last spring, they were in some tournament ther or something. I have no idea how they play it, but a quick search on youtube, they admit it's silly, but still fun.

Looks interesting at least, if I knew more about Harry Potter, but I missed that boat by about 3 years.

What part does the stick against the genitalia area play in the game?
Maybe we will end up with better attendance at these games than at basketball games.

Love the idea. They can have halftime contests called "Ditch the Lingerie".
