I keep thinking that IF CUSA needs another team one of the 3 below will get an offer.

WKU
stAte
GSU

All add another state for TV purposes.

WKU is close to MTSU and has great basketball, up and coming football.

stAte is the only other FBS program in its state, and has made great strides.

GSU has its MASSIVE media market as its strong point. #5 in the country cant be overlooked by TV deals.

I dont knwo which it would be but I think those are the 3 that CUSA is looking fo if they need one.

I don't think we'd take GSU for tv market. I think the BE TV contract is showing that it doesn't really matter that much after all. Might as well grab WKU. They are a geographic fit and a rival to MTSU. They're an easy trip for MTSU and Marshall fans and not an unreasonable drive for Charlotte/ODU fans.

GSU is obviously a pretty good geographic fit too (short drive for UAB and Charlotte), but MTSU & WKU have a rivalry that dates back years. GSU doesn't really have any history with Charlotte or UAB.

If all they are doing is replacing Tulsa, I think you scratch WKU or Georgia State because the geography ends up being wonky.

Either WKU/MTSU go west or USM/UAB go west and can't imagine UAB wants that since most everyone they likely supported for basketball ends up in the east.

Yeah if Tulsa leaves, I have to imagine it will be Arkansas State.

No, if Tulsa leaves it will be WKU. The big question is who will be next? I think Ark St, TX St, GA St, and ULL are all neck and neck in the running for that spot.

Might just be me, but I get a sense that the underwhelming tv dollars that the Big East is about to pull in may be the spark that stops conference expansion at our level. If the Big East adds another school, that will dilute the low dollars they are about to receive. So, Tulsa should be staying put for the foreseeable future, along with a host of other schools that keep pimping themselves out to CUSA.

How many WKU fans want to leave to SBC for CUSA? Keep in mind when you answer that you may need to prove your statement true one day.

Right here.

Though on NCAA Football '13, I have WKU, Ark State and Troy in the MAC.

A man can dream.

I have no problem with it. If Troy had a chance to move in a positive direction and didn't I'd be pissed.

RE: On Valentine's Day: Banowsky hearts Western Kentucky
No offense, but I have been wanting out of the Sun Belt for a long time mainly due to basketball and the lack of care from most of the SBC for that sport....I am just ready for a change and think the school is too, we have been in the Sun Belt for over 30 years basically my whole life....I must admit, I have been surprised by the success though for the football conference as a whole..WHen we first joined in football I had the attitude of coming in from day one and taking the Sun Belt as at the time did not think it was too much of an upgrade from the old Gateway Conference in football..Even though we have been competative from day one, its been a lot harder to win in conference than I imagined, espeically this past season...The QB play for conference teams has improved greatly even in the few seasons we have been in FBS....Even though I dislike MTSU, when they jumped it leaves us on a island with no one around with much history and no rivarly or any teams our fans care about mainly in basketball..WOuld be great to rejoin our rivals back in the late 80's for basketball with ODU, UAB, Char., and start a potential new rivarly with Marshall...Plus I think a conf. jump would pump life back into our sports in general, right now it stagant in everything minus the hire of Petrino...We need some added energy back in BG! Just one WKU fans opinon as I think most WKU fans are aboard conf. change due to MTSU leaving but some are all about us taking care of business no matter what conf. we are in...

Good points.

USM is already going West in 2014 and maintaining their budding rivalry is the only reason I can see UAB getting behind a western move.
