I like Larry, but I think it stinks that another mid-major hired our coach away.

My understanding was that he just didn't like Hattiesburg?

At least you guys replaced him with a hell of a coach.

Exactly. I was a fan of LE, but I'll take Tyndall over LE any day of the week.

Return on investment?

I agree that everything has turned out well... I just objected to CSU poaching our coach right in the middle of our supposed conference merger.

I was watching that game...I wish I could've been in the arena for those last few minutes; it sounded very loud!

I was at the Tulane game....I really liked LE...he can flat out coach...his radio persona was just too honest for the bible belt....Tyndall is basically the same with personality to match the masses....we are fortunate to have/had both.

I don't think any USM fan can disapprove of how the transition from LE to Tyndall. I've been impressed with both hires...I'm sure it stings to lose LE to CSU, but the wins have to help.

There are people in Hattiesburg for whom Dr. Seuss is too real.

Larry E. reminded me a bit of John Brady (LSU, Ark. State). John was as blunt as anyone on the planet. It helped get him fired just two years after taking LSU to the Final Four.

It did until we hired Tyndall....for a school like ours to have back to back successful hires is something I never thought I would see at the hoops level...especially at bargain basement prices....

I really hope we step up and give Tyndall the dollars he has most certainly earned. ...big mistake if we do not.

It is nice to see Tyndall coach during the game. It is also nice now to be able to have children sit within hearing distance of the bench. I do not miss LE's mouth.

Wouldn't trade DT for a dozen LE's. Wish him well, but not missing him.

Tell me Tyndall from the backside doesn't remind you of MK minus the 'peace' sign defense....lmfao

I agree with how lucky we are to have DT....but you have to acknowledge LE's presence made that happen...and both can coach...I wouldn't trade DT either.

I understand that...we went from a coach who could make a sailor blush to a boy scout. It's refreshing to see the face of your program be one who you would respect privately.

stink...why are you looking at your coach's backside? 05-stirthepot

I take it you never coached for money. I am happy for him and wish him well because he did some good things for USM and left it better off than M.K. Turk did after building a good program he then ran the ship into an iceberg and sank it. Larry at least left a program that a new coach could work with and not be scandal ridden like Turk left. I also like the coach we got and given some time to establish trails in recruiting and getting some height to compliment the team strengths, I think we are going to do fine, and that is what we really want.

I didn't expect Larry to turn down the money. I do expect our administrators to ask why a supposed peer apparently has so much more money than we do. I don't know all the answers there. We need to find someone who does.
