I would get them to run a break, too much 5 on 5 offense with the guards all out beyond the three point line. It might take some pressure off Guyn to have to try and create in a 5 on 5 setting. Change spacing for him to work with. Might also be easier on Cash knee moving the ball straight to the foul line (vertically) and pulling up.

If you miss 3 consecutive outside shots (if it happens), the next has to be at the rim to at least try and draw a foul. Especially in the second half.

Learn to use the glass on short jumpers and around the rim, more margin for error. If its good enough for Wooden...

It starts with the outlet pass and filling the lanes...

with cashmere's knee still hurting him, I would shut him down for a couple of weeks. Jeremiah Davis III is practicing with the team, so I would disregard redshirting him now and insert him in the lineup, if he's playing as good as they say. I don't like either of our big men and I believe they killing this team with the lack of Basketball IQ, lack of able to shoot 3 footers and not having Balls inside when being defended. That is what is killing this team because our guards had to most everything offensively to carry this team. With Wright Hurt and now possibly Parker, we are in trouble the rest of the season. Our only hope is that davis can play and that Sanders and Thomas can play more and start hitting shots , playing D and rebounding. Our inside game is non-existent most of the year and I'm embarrassed watching Mbodj, Nyarsuk, Jackson, Gaines and Rubles attempt to shoot. Rubles does other things well but he has not jump shot to save his life in a game. It's going to be up to the perimeter game on offense and at this stage, I don't see good things happening with Wright and parker hurt.

JDIII is ready?

I say play him. He can be a solid player for a couple years.

if JD is practicing, I would think that he'd be able to play. Thankfully, the team played better tonight and we didn't need JD after all. If Cash would go down in another game, I wouldnt think Mick could avoid not playing him ( JD3 )

I'd give Guyn a heck of alot more playing time, also give Thomas much more time. He was in a couple of minutes in the Villanova game and had a steal and was fouled driving to the hoop. Also, Gains has earned the second spot at the 5 position. DN has not done the job in my opinion.

RE: what would you change if you were Mick Cronin?
Id continue to sit JDIII and take advantage of the Redshirt as he will emerge..He hasnt seen playing time nearly all year(the games against the scrubs dont really count) and even though he is practicing with the team the transition to game form in the big east might be a little difficult for him to get down the pace. IDK just my thought on that...

But as for Guyn, he deserves more playing time after last night. His jump shot looked nice and at times he was aggressive in trying to get to the basket. Sometimes his defense was a little iffy as he let him man burn him a couple times, but then you have to count on someone helping.

Rubles still has a lot of work to do. He was one of the best JUCO players in the nation. I know its a giant jump from JUCO to Big East basketball but he needs to be stronger with the ball and when he drives, look to score. So many times he will go in the lane and never look to score and is always looking for a pass. We need to be more aggressive on the offensive end. And It seems like his man gets passed him a lot due to poor positioning or when hes on help defense he tends to get back to him man too late and thats when Mbodj picks up his fouls cuz he has to slide over and help.

Shaqs defensive game is coming along great. Right when he got on the floor he got a steal. If only we can get his offensive game going. He needs to be more confident in his abilities. Same with Sanders. The guy has one heck of a shot. It takes him a while to get it off as he doesnt have the quick trigger SK has, but nonetheless, Sanders has a really nice shot and if we can get him more open looks he will knock them down

Shaq and Sanders need to be more aggressive...both of these can score, I know they can. We NEED them to come in LOOKING to score. Right now they just seem to tentative. They look afraid to ef up...

If the light could go on for either (both would be fantastic) them before/by March it would add SO much to our team right now....frankly we are at the point we NEED one of these two guys to step up.

Guyn: I like him. He plays defense, he seems calm, and I think his shot will come around. No, he won't be prolfic, but I think he will be able to score when needed.
