I agree. I enjoy the Liberty Bowl when I come up for the Southern Heritage Classic every year. There arent really a lot of bad seats there either.

Dude was obviously uncomfortable outside of Legion Field to say the least. Smithfield is not known for gang violence or whatever he said in his article. Maybe that was his perception but it’s not the truth.

Chapman is awesome.

We have a great tailgate scene. Its the perfect size. They have dope luxury boxes. You can sit right behind the opposing bench and heckle (just no cuss words). They preserved the old architecture of old Skelly. The Case Athletic Center is incredible. Our locker rooms are easily the nicest in CUSA.

Its next to the Reynolds Center which is probably the nicest on campus hoops venue in the league. Thats just a bushleague review.

Most Blazertalkers have been to Legion Field scores of times without incident. I've never felt unsafe at a UAB game. That being said, he is right that there is nothing around it. It doesn't have a college atmosphere at all.

He says Rice Stadium has no student section. I know it may be hard to believe on some gamedays, but there is definitely a student section

He's right about the concessions and the parking, but I've never let that stop me from going to a game, matter of fact those were the last things on my mind... Well parking wasn't but I know several spots to go to.

I enjoy Gameday at the Rock.

Greenville is not a major city but I am still trying to think of all the "burned out buildings" he was referring too?

Thought there was a couple parking areas on campus for visiting fans?

This is an old article that we talked about before but guessing he came in one of the bad streets towards campus and did not venture too far in any other direction. He cracked me up with the elitist parking situation at ECU AKA the Pirate Club priority system. I have a spot barely 50yds from the stadium and compared to what Big Boy schools pay for prime parking we get the deal of the century. ECU is blessed with a lot of parking and tailgating spots around Ficklen compared to a lot of schools that I have visited. Have good friends that are Ohio St. fans and they pay a ton of money for a parking spot no where near as close as mine. Most of our friends at Ohio St. tailgate miles from the stadium and take shuttle buses. I go to quite a few SEC games and it is the same story at a lot of places although South Carolina has great tailgating close to the stadium and plenty of cheap parking.

RE: StadiumJourney.com visits every FBS CFB stadium and ranks their experience
I'd say it's a fair enough assessment. I didn't see where he said that we played Mexico. Perhaps he was thinking of the time that the soccer team played a game against a Mexican team or did they? He didn't like the nachos. I like those kind of nachos that they sell there because they're different from the ones our Mexican families make for parties, it is a good change of pace, no pun intended. He did a good job and I'm sure some of the new members of our conference will be impressed with the digs.

There are plenty.....if you can't find a parking space within 3/4 mile radius for free, Ray Charles is your chauffeur.

spot on. I think a lot of times people confuse lower middle class areas with dangerous areas. Those two things are not always the same.

If I'm reading it correctly and he did indeed go to the Georgia Tech in 2011, they scored a touchdown on their first play from scrimmage, we ended up losing by four touchdowns and were never really in the game. I know that we have a much better atmosphere than he experienced, I'm not really all that concerned with this ranking. Very few non-AQs are immune from having a really bad set of circumstances making their experience seem far worse than it actually is.

Has to be with USM that low. Silly stuff.

To be honest, I didn't even look at the rankings until I saw this post. I clicked on the review for us, then read a few others. It is pretty clear from his criteria that he has lsu ranked number one or very close to it. I dismissed the Ucf ranking because he is an alum...I would rank usm that high if I was doing this list.

Makes more sense how they got a 5 for fans even though they can't find 45,000 of them at a university with nearly 60,000 students in a city of over 2 million.

Memphis seems to be ranked on potential. I wouldn't have put them that high and both games I went to there had over 40,000 in attendance. I hope Memphis can improve the neighborhood, tailgating areas, and stadium over time. That place has the potential to become a truly historic stadium.

Hi! I saw you are an East Carolina fan. We (Memphis) played at you all's house this year, so you have not gotten to see all of the renovations that have been done to the Liberty Bowl. I'm talking complete makeover. It is so nice now. Tiger lane is perfect for tailgating. The neighborhood around the lane and stadium is pretty good, and one of the the most historic neighborhoods in the city. Now if you venture off too far, or look a little ways, then it could get rougher, but all cities are like that. (Except Marshall. I honestly do not think a crime ever happens in their city! ha) But our stadium has a brand new videoboard on both ends, one is one of the largest in the nation! Brand new paint job. Full cleaning. New concession stands. Flat screens everywhere. Big time. Now if we can just get some winning going and put 60,000 folks in there, it will be hard to beat. Next time you have the oppurtunity to come, you really should. You'll be impressed!
