At that time we already had all 4 of our OOC games scheduled and under contract.

I wish it would have happened but I understand that AD Compher does not want to back out of a contract.

Makes it so easy to ask, when you already know the other person is stuck with their schedule. He should have accepted if he could get a 2 for 1.

If we're going to play FCS teams, play the worst ones we can possibly find and make it a win. Nobody cares how good or bad the FCS team you play is.

So, on Sept. 14, Western Michigan plays at Northwestern while NIU plays in the Kibbie Dome, and we had a chance to play at Northwestern? There is something wrong with this. If this is true, this is some of the sickest crap I've heard.

I'm OK never playing ISU, WIU, EIU, SIU ever again. They probably bring an extra 2000 fans into our stadium, and an extra 2000 of our fans stay home because we booked an FCS team. I'd rather bring in a Wyoming type school for those open slots.

I understand that FCS teams do not get you jazzed up but out of the top 30 attended games at Huskie Stadium since 1995, 9 of them were vs FCS teams and 7 of them were vs instate FCS teams.

In 2000 vs IL St and 2007 vs SIU we had 24k in the stands. We haven't had 24k in the stands since AD Compher has been at NIU.

Heck for a home opener in 1998 vs EIU during NIUs winless streak there were 20k in attendance. We didn't even come close to 20k last season. Same thing for 2008 vs Indiana St. How does that game get 20k but a game vs Kansas only gets 18k?

I know we've in talking attendance and the only conclusion I've drawn is it's a combination of factors some of which are not controllable.

I'll be interested to see what our new Marketing guy has up his sleeve for 2013.

No matter the Schedule I'll be a first time Season Ticket holder no matter what. The value makes it a no-brainer even if you can't make them all. Shame on me for not doing it sooner...

B10 per Barry Alvarez will also no longer play FCS teams. if all the AQ teams do this, FCS membership will drop by at least 25-30 teams or they will go non scholarship ala Pioneer or Patriot leagues. Huge changes in college football coming

Compher has done a great job in some areas, but for the love of sweet baby jesus, can he please give the scheduling job to an assistant or someone that can be successful in this area.

FCS games are typically our home opener or second home game of the season. The weather is nice, its early in the season, etc. so a better draw should be expected no matter who the opponent. I don't think you can directly attribute bigger crowds to instate competition.

I would disagree here. You get a lot more vistors, when you play the instate FCS teams. Many of their alums live closer to NIU than to their own schools, so you get a lot of people showing up at the game from the suburbs. There is a direct effect of playing the instate schools vs. Cal Poly.

WIU always draws a decent crowd.

I guess I am in the minority as I have not been to a single game against an instate FCS team. I have zero interest in those matchups and only attend games against FBS competition. I am actually looking forward to the Wyoming game. I would much rather see how we stack up against an MWC team than an MVC or OVC team.
