The previous 3 years, they started off in the top 25 due to preseason hype and promptly dropped out once the started playing/losing games. Proud of the players and coaches. Now stay focused and keep playing them one game at a time.

Good observation....03-idea

The Tigers always seem to play better getting ranked than they do "being" ranked. Forget the rankings guys and keep winning. It IS nice to be able to see Memphis in the highlights.

Just keep winning. This is all we can do at this point in time. If teams ahead of us lose then that’s their business.

Let’s take care of our own business and let the dominos fall for March.

I just don't get you guys...

Me either

My standards are so low, I'll be happy to settle for a no. 5 seed.

I'd happily take the 'Goliath' role in 5 vs.12 matchup, don't care who 'dat, but would rather have a #6, since we'd have to get by #2 instead of #1, on down the road. Either one would be very great to have.

Win out, likely catch a couple weeks of jumping two teams. Heck Miami went from unraked to top five in four weeks in the AP and three weeks in ESPN. Granted a couple big wins helped, but even doing what they did in 2008-09:

http://warrennolan.com/basketball/2009/schedule/Memphis

Week 12, entered the coaches poll at 24 (AP at 22)
Week 13: 19 (18)
Week 14: 15 (14)
Week 15: 10 (8)
Week 16: 6 (5)

Yep, pretty conservative on my part. If we win out we probably will be top 12-14 and might be able to sneak in for a 4 seed.

The committee still hates us. They value quality wins and we don't really have any right now. If we win out we should be in the top 15 maybe better chance of the top 10 with the way every one is losing.

It's comments like these that irk the crap out of me...

I am a Memphis fan and I am very surprised at being ranked at all. If you look at the teams just out of the rankings there are 5 or 6 that would beat Memphis 9 out of 10 times.

9 out of 10 times? 03-banghead

It's cool to be in the polls, but at this time of the year and with our team, i'm more concerned about how we finish the season. It's almost that time. You know.....march madness time.

Congrats to the tiger team. Keep that winning streak going !
