RE: Big East RPI Update (02-11-13)
Crazy that the MWC has a higher RPI than the Big East.

The MWC is neck and neck with the Big Ten as the best conference in Division 1 (according to the RPI). I never thought I would ever see that.

**Current RPI ranking of the top 10 conferences in Division 1**
(each conference’s record is vs. Division 1 non-conference opponents only)
1. Big Ten…121-31 (.796)…0.5890
2. Mountain West…87-26 (.770)…0.5884
3. Big East…151-34 (.816)…0.5862
4. ACC…114-37 (.755)…0.5743
5. Big XII…89-33 (.730)…0.5681
6. Pac 12…109-41 (.727)…0.5640
7. Atlantic 10…143-77 (.650)…0.5529
8. SEC…117-58 (.669)…0.5479
9. Missouri Valley…68-42 (.618)…0.5341
10. West Coast…69-44 (.611)…0.5309

RE: Big East RPI Update (02-11-13)
As of now, they are projected to overtake the Big10. Although that has fluctuated a few times. They aren't elite at the top, but their middle teams like Boise State are very solid.

That's just crazy.....some good teams, but I don't see any elite 8 material. solid top to bottom tho.

I disagree here....I think this year more than any year I can remember there are numerous teams (from multiple conferences) that COULD reach the elite 8. There is no true juggernaut this year. Nobody is head and shoulders above anybody else and the brackets are going to be a mess before it's all said and done. IMO

I agree. It is wide open this year. It could be the most interesting NCAA tournament in decades.

Why? You would have had a better football conference and a much better basketball conference.
