They might consider it, but is the interest amicable? I don't know, but I can't imagine too many in the MWC looking to go down that road again to go near 16 teams like the old WAC, and 14 might just be too many. Unfortunately with those two being part of two conferences with low payouts, it does not seem they may move the needle enough to make it worthwhile enough to the MWC to expand. Now if the MWC rescinded their offers to San Jose and Utah State, and that would be hard to do after they stepped up and helped the MWC when they were near death, they may not have that option.

Maybe maybe not, but I just would not put that as a guarantee, unless the rescind some invitations, and/or are able to get BYU to join.

no but he's an ACC fan.

Just for the record I'm born and raised in North Carolina so it shouldn't be a shocker that I am a fan of an ACC team and follow that conference. Growing up in the sixties everyone was either a Carolina or a State fan so I was always a State fan. When I went to college I attended ECU before transferring to ASU. Now my daughter is at ECU. I also live near Buies Creek so I go to a few Campbell games each year. So I'm a ECU fan because I attended school there, all my money and credit goes there, and I just plain like pulling for the Pirates. But I grew up pulling for State so I still pull for them unless they are playing ECU and lets face it ACC basketball is much more interesting than CUSA BB. I pull for ASU because I graduated from there and I love the mountains. I pull for Campbell because I know a lot of people that went there, know a few of the coaches and I get a chance to see them play.

So sorry if I don't pass some kind of purity test.

It's not purity, it's loyalty. You are committed to ECU but not loyal to ECU. You can be committed to many but you can only be loyal to one.

Sorry but that makes absolutely no sense to me. If someone has a favorite team they can't also follow other teams and pull for them if they aren't playing their favorite team? That would somehow make them disloyal?

And there you have it. You look at it as pulling for "teams". Pulling for a "team" and standing behind your university. When you look at things as just a "team" it's completely different IMO.

agree 100%. Also responses shouldn't be posted on a public forum IMO.

I agree...but...I understand the need to share.

I think in this day and age, our previous generations have done an absolutely terrible job of teaching what loyalty actually is. Far too many people confused commitment with loyalty. It is starting to be used synonymously when there is a very distinct difference.

com·mit·ment
/k?'mitm?nt/
Noun
The act of committing or the state of being committed.
Dedication; application.

loy·al·ty
/'loi?lte/
Noun
The quality of being loyal to someone or something.

Loyalty does not allow for multiple recipients. You can only be loyal to one in any certain situation. You can be loyal to a group (obviously more than one) but not to several groups. You can have two jobs you are committed to but if you were forced by both the choose one and only one that's when you find out where your loyalty stands (or if loyalty matters in that situation).

I know people who wear nothing but purple and gold and do everything like Pirates...tailgating for years and years, but when it comes right down to it they are Carolina fans. They even keep it quiet. Why keep it quiet? Because deep inside they know it is disloyal.

Everyone has the right to pull for whom they like. Just realize that loyal Pirates will not (and should not IMO) look at you as a loyal Pirate. Most likely loyal fans from other teams won't either. No need to be offended by actions you control.

Okay I pull for the Pirates. I am loyal and committed to my family, my faith, my friends, and my country. Just enjoying sports and rooting for teams is enough for me. 04-cheers

You deleted the word "the" from my post when you copied it. I guess that kind of changes the meaning, if you are really looking for something. 03-zzz
