Mike Mallory went to Michigan when his dad coached here and his brothers went there when his dad was at IU. There is precedence to go elsewhere.

Nieman was offered by Iowa last year at their Jr. day camp. He is a confirmed verbal to NIU according to rivals and another recruiting site{24 7 sports}

I would bet he will take the Iowa offer. Playing for his dad at NIU probably is not a good reason, because the chances of his dad staying 4 yrs at NIU is not realistic.

But if Ben is playing at NIU his dad is more likely to stick around for 4 more years.

I bet he signs with NIU when the time comes.

Iowa offered him as a linebacker, something he says he hasn't played.

Wonder what position we have in mind for him?

I'm guessing WR since that is what he plays right now.

Kid has his head on straight.

Has his college decision completed and now focused on bringing his HS team to a MO state title game in the dome in St Louis. Huskies can real in some talent from KS & MO this year; Rivals gives the 2 states 29 3,4 & 5 star players on the HS level and 16 more from KS JC"s. That's a load

I know most people here don't care for ESPN or recruit ratings, but Landon Root is a three star recruit on ESPN with a 71 overall rating. He may be the "best" QB recruit NIU has ever gotten, which shows progress for the program.

Only if we keep him. Long way to go until the recruiting finish line.

Britt is the best QB recruit NIU has ever landed.

Jordan Lynch and Chandler Harnish had 1 offer.

Meaningless.

Love this kid already. Still a long way to go but he will obviously be glad to end up here regardless of what happens over the next 7 months.

Tough to keep others when you have a guy who isn't going to play for his dad.

Todd Worly is the Iowa insider who predicted Ben to Iowa shortly after he was offered. If you click on 247 crystal ball under his name[Todd Worly] you will see Prediction: Iowa, outcome: NIU. We still have a long way to go, but Ben has not left as of now.
