Just a tweak to the conversation, but those numbers are "points" and not "votes." It's a small difference, but I just can't see 19 or 14 of those voters putting our programs in the top 25. I'm sure that Tim Floyd helped all of us out, but it's hard to see a large number of votes based on that list of voters.

Some of the new members may create a different voting pattern for conference members based on their previous relationships.

Which means a few people had to have both teams above the 25th slot...

Last week, USM had 7, so I'm guessing a pair of voters put us at 22 and 23rd.). So I'm guessing those two voters might have moved us up to 19th & 20th, or some voters just started catching on and putting us at 25?

Here's the AP pollstalker. Don't know why Southern Miss isn't picking up votes.

Unfortunately, they don't have the USA Today poll.

The coaches don't want their votes to be known.

Interesting stats that JMS posted in the Memphis forum.....
-USM has 4th longest home winning streak in D1
-Memphis has 2nd longest road winning streak in D1

UCF and SMU fans are loving the fact that we're talking about Sat. when we've both got games on Wed. I hope neither team is taking Wed for granted.

I hear ya, if you don't play extra hard on the road, you can go down in a hurry.

If it all goes as planned, USM and Memphis will be putting undefeated conference record on the line.. Could be a hell of a game and sight.

Knowing our luck we'll beat USM on the road, get ranked, then turn around and lose to UCF at home...

You get the Knights at home. The Forum is a TOUGH place to play; I expect UofM will win. USM has to go down to Orlando, though.

Southern Miss wins by 5 at UCF, and then wins by 8 at home over Memphis. However, Tulane upsets us at home the next game.....sigh

I'm surprised that we are favored by 2. I expected UCF to be favored by 1.
