Good Hard fought game for the Blazers
USM shot 63% from the field and 59% from three point range. Watson was 7-7 and 6-6 from three point range. Rucker and Jones had an off night, yet the Blazers were in it right to the end against what I think is the best team in the conference. (Memphis has the most talent, but USM has the best team.)

Way to fight, Blazers. This team is turning the corner.

I thought the same thing. Granted, I haven't watched as much this year as in years past (not for lack of interest), but tonight was the best effort I've seen this team put together. Of course, from what I heard about the UTEP game, it may come in a close second. At any rate, I was happy with the effort the team put together tonight.

Why don't you wait for the USM-Memphis game to make that determination.

RE: Good Hard fought game for the Blazers
No doubt, what a performance by USM point guard and yes, a couple of UAB players hustled hard but finished with 12 missed shots out of 16 tries. It seemed that late in the game when UAB was pounding the boards to get several key rebounds, and they came so close to getting some big ones on both ends, but the ball somehow was rebounded by USM. Only 12 turnovers, tonight, but a couple of turnovers in a row, both fumbles, I think, off of the dribble, really hurt when they were down by 4 with about 9 minutes left and USM all of a sudden went up by 11 and UAB was forced to call time out, I think. That was a huge turning point.

Because I have seen both teams play several times and it is my opinion.

I knew you would post to point out all of the bad things they did.

I think USM is better than Memphis. Whether that will show when they play each other or not, I don't know. But based on what I've seen, I would agree that USM is impressive and appears to be better than USM... this year.

I'm disappointed to lose any game, but we didn't play a bad game. We played well, but USM just played out of their heads.

There were 5 turnovers unforced thrown from corner to corner out of bounds. 2 by Foz, 1 each for swing, Taylor, and rucker. 5 possessions wasted. If the team was shooting 50%, its likely uab wouldve tied or won the game. Uab shot well, Usm shot great. USM must've had the ole rabbit foot in their pocket. Get em next time, maybe. Team effort was great. Ready for next season.

RE: Good Hard fought game for the Blazers
UAB forced a lot more turnovers than they had. And we had less than our average.

Some of you won't be happy until we play a game with zero turnovers in a game and shoot 100% from the field, line and three point line.
I know Gorilla remembers that the Blazers used to play turnover free back when he helped coach practices, but most games today played at the pace we play at will have a lot of turnovers by both teams.

Another nice stat: 18 assists on 23 FG's. The 23 FG's should have been more, but good moving the ball around. At half time, it was 10 assists on 11 FG's.

Also, QT's best game to date. He may be starting over TJ soon. Then all of the people who have been griping about TJ will be happy (except they are probably the ones who were griping last year about QT)

So have I, and think I will wait and see how the rest of the conference season plays out before making a call either way. Memphis looked very good today.

Yes, for once, Memphis looked good today at home. They didn't give up a big lead and limp to a win.

And by all means, you wait to the end of the season before deciding who has the best team. That's a good safe way of doing it.

The way this team has played recently has brightened the outlook for sure. That was the best Blazer defeat I have witnessed in a long time.

That's all? Seemed like he shot well over 100%.

About as safe as picking against the team you don't want to win the conference .

I surely cannot wait for the cockroach infestation to move to Bestest Ever Conference discussion boards. There's nothing so charming as a maudlin drunk sitting down at your table in a restaurant and insisting on talking about his divorce.

How do you know who I don't want to win the conference. There are 11 teams I don't want to win the conference.
