This has to be one of the dumbest and most illogical posts I have ever read, and that is saying a lot given the number years I have been around here and the number of dumb ass posts I have some across. USM did not screw anyone out of anything....That blame falls squarely on the shoulders of the Houston coaches and players.

Unfortunately for USM their location is killing them on the realignment front, just like it has caused issues for ECU in the past...I am still surprised the Big East picked us up when they did as we really do not fit the profile of the other schools they have chosen, we are not a very large school located in an urban area.

That, but above all the fact that the schools voting on nBE entry the last go around included the C7 in addition to Rutgers and UConn among others.

Unfortunately, for the biased snobs in the Northeast, the word "Mississippi" makes them think of something small-time, ignorant, and backwoods*. Add the fact that USM has a directional name, and I honestly think that explains much of it.

It's unfortunate, but imho I think there's some truth there.

UAB is just as much to blame. Had they laid down against us, it wouldn't have mattered who won the CCG. The winner would've been BCS-bound.

Yes, it always amazes me that certain folks who would pride themselves on being enlightened, educated, and sophisticated are some of the most parochial, regionally oriented people around. In other words, they are the ones who actually more closely fit the definition of a "hick". I live in Iowa which is probably better than the northeast, but is still full of ignorant people who think the south is full of savages, lol.

Edit--I used to teach at a small college up here. A couple of students were asking me about driving down for Mardi Gras since I lived in New Orleans for years. Their concern was white "racist" Mississippi cops--odd since the students were white. Anyway, I told them that the odds were pretty good that any Mississippi state trooper who stopped them on I-55 might well be black. They couldn't comprehend that.

Of course it was, it will take 20 Big East football Championships to cleanse the smell of our nutsacks off your chins.

If Houston or any other team thinks that they should be "given" a victory just because of ranking then that team is unworthy of being a respectable school. USM not only beat Houston in the C-USA Championship game in 2011 but it also lost a game to UAB that killed our chances of a BCS bid. We blame only ourselves for that loss and congrats to UAB for the win. If you want stuff handed to you on a plate even if you don't earn it, then you aren't much of a program.
