I have a great idea Marky, why don't you request credentials and go interview Noland and Sander yourself. Write the hard hitting article that you think Johnson City needs. I am sure Hodge will give you the job and White will grant you access.

I didn't blame for hating football. What I meant by mowing the football field is that he is a bad coach.

Frankly, I don't want to write for the Johnson City Press. High school basketball and a paper who didn't fire their managing editor after "exposing" those arrested in the park a few years back ain't my thing.

To me, this is very distressing. I hate to count chickens before they hatch, but it seems a major annoucement is coming if the vibe is to be believed.

But the one thing that can kill this is apathy from the locals. You need Joe Johnson City to get behind ETSU, to buy tickets, etc.

Joe Johnson City isn't going to get behind ETSU if this move forward isn't publicized. And at the current schedule of publicity, consisting of one interview by the Press last summer where Brian Noland was asked about his jump shot, is not going to be enough.

Sander is who talked to the Press and gave them the numbers they used in the article today about how much football will cost.
So yes they do have access.

The question here is why the student media was the first to do these sort of one on ones (which this wasn't) but the traditional paid media has, to my knowledge, not done them.

It speaks of laziness at worst and a lack of priorities at best.

Now, perhaps The Morning Monster has interviewed Sander and I'm not aware of it.

But I can't find any mention of it on their Facebook page, however (or any posts since Jan. 23) and they no longer archive interviews on their webpage.
