His mother passed this morning. Most of you know Dewayne. He does not post much but does read the board.

Cindy & I would like to be the first one to send our heart felt condolences to Dewayne and his family. No words can express the sorrow of losing a parent.

Sorry to hear you lost your mom, UAB Fan and Friend, although we have never met. I would like to tell you a bit about my mom, who is 84 years old. Thank goodness she is still very active, has lived alone in Panama City for 30 years, still works 4 hours a day, 5 days a week, as a receptionist-bookeeper at a Physicians Office. Moms favorite pastime-hobby is going to all home basketball games for men and womens basketball teams at Gulf Coast State College, in Panama City. Mom has attended every home game over the course of the past twenty years, or so. I might add that the womens teams have compiled an astonishing record of 478-62 record, with 13 conference, 8 state, and 3 national championships in the past sixteen seasons.

Although I only see my mom about once a year, we talk a good bit on the phone and many times we share thoughts about UAB basketball(my favorite) and GCSC basketball(her favorite). Mom has even seen Rod Rucker play for Northwest Florida State College, against GCSC, several times. Small world.

I just thought I would share my thoughts with you, about my own mom, and hopefully to brighten your day, in hopes that you will reminisce, and rejoice, during this tough time.
