I'm Kyle Veazey, our enterprise reporter. I've been on a committee that has been working on these plans for a few months now and simply want to check in to see what y'all think.

The survey is here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Q5K78DW

I will probably close it tomorrow afternoon. If you have a few moments between now and then, could you please give us your thoughts? Thanks.

As always, you can email me at veazey@commercialappeal.com, too.

Sorry about your Rebs, Kyle. Stay strong bud.

Ha! Well, I appreciate you thinking about me, but looks like it's misplaced. I'm not an Ole Miss fan.

Hope you fill out the survey; we're curious to hear what folks like you think.

Survey closed , too bad .

That dude has issues.. 01-wingedeagle you can always see it in the eyes.

Why was that idiot not thrown out of the game when he threw that piece of ice like a baseball back up in the crowd . If he had hit anyone in the eyes he could of put their eye out .. What a moron . I still think they should look at it and suspend him , if a KY player had done it he would have been tossed .

If a Kentucky player the fans would have wanted him tossed. There is a big write about him in USA today.

Bingo!!!! Or at least put it on the back pages where it belongs. No way ole miss or utk should ever share the front page with the Tigers in either football or basketball.

that's absolutely stupid
there is a great deal of regional interest in both of those teams and they'd be acting irresponsibly from a journalism standpoint not reporting on them.

Stupid my @zz. Read it again genius. Regional interest? Good, like I said, put their @sses on the back pages. Pull your slip up dude, your black bear/vol loving @zz is showing.

How about somebody cover the Tigers that actually demonstrates some passion in his coverage? Would that be too much to ask?

This right here. As far as I am concerned Jason Smith is terrible and I have not bought a paper since he took over the Tiger beat. Seems like he is either monotone, boring, robotic, OR trying to stir drama.

Biggest problem the Commercial Appeal has.

there is a ton of interest in them and it's the job of a journalist to report it. stop being stupid... if you're capable. (i'm not holding my breath though)

He's not saying that they shouldn't report on schools like UT and Ole Miss. Given their large number of fans in this city and the surrounding area, of course they should. He's merely saying that on days when Memphis has games also, the Memphis Commercial Appeal should have the Tigers on the front page of the sports section and articles on the other teams a bit deeper.

Given the fact that the front page of the sports section usually has the beginning of three or so articles, personally, I don't have a problem with one of those being about one of the other regional teams. However, the main front page article and accompanying pictures should always be about the Tigers.

They're journalists, not cheer leaders. Give me objective reporting any day of the week. If I want passionate sunshine pumping or passionate Pastner bashing, I can come here.

I didn't take it that way when he said passion. The articles I have read by Jason Smith could have been done by a robot. I am not talking about being a homer, or even showing yourself as a fan or not. Simply write an engaging article and people will want to read it.
If I want a bland summary of action I can do a quick read on gametracker.

What? Struck a nerve calling you out as a black bear/vol lover? Read it again, s-l-o-w-l-y this time. I'm saying, again, s-l-o-w-l-y. Put their @sses on the back pages. I'm sure, even you have the capability to turn the pages and find their articles (but then again, I'm not holding my breath).

I hate when game recaps just regurgitate what is in the box score.
