NIU bball rest of the year, whats left to play for?
The answer to that question is a FIRST ROUND BYE and no need to participate in the campus site round. Obviously Ohio and Akron have separated themselves and barring a miracle will get the double byes. WMU appears to have a pretty good hold on the 3rd seed and a single bye. But that 4th spot is a wide open race, that NIU can put itself in great position for by upsetting the Rockets this Saturday. Who would have thought with all this turmoil its still possible to talk a bye for the Huskies come March.

All remaining games but the second WMU game are very winnable...HOWEVER that is only with consistent play which has not happened at all this season...well in a positive way that is.

Home vs EMU- that should be interesting to see how much they have learned and how they attack them. I don't know if I can watch. That last one was the ugliest game I've ever seen. And EMU contributed to that too.

I want a winning conference record. That's all I ask. We can't get anywhere without that first being a priority.

Remember there are five byes this year, so it's not out of the realm of possibility.

NIU76, Toledo is not eligible for this years MAC Tourney. Top 5 teams get a first round bye and head to Cleveland. Teams 6-11 play first round at campus sites. The higher seeded team host's the game( 6-11, 7-10, 8-9).

RE: NIU bball rest of the year, whats left to play for?
I'm not 100% sure, but I believe I've heard that wherever Toledo finishes, everyone behind them moves up one spot. The 1st and 2nd seeds receive triple byes into the semifinals. The 3rd and 4th seeds receive double byes into the quarterfinals. The 5th seed receives a single bye to play the winner of the 8/9 game. The 6th seed plays the 11 seed, the 7th seed plays the 10th seed, and the 8th seed plays the 9th seed on the higher seeded campus site.

^^Or what this poster posted above.

Can't figure out how to make a good looking bracket without drawing it by hand, but this is what Wikipedia came up with.

If NIU avoids 20 losses this year and is somewhere around .500 in the MAC, I think I'll be happy.

We'll shut that clown down when we make it to the Sweet 16 and Elite 8. (Sorry, I can't go any further than that, lest I shatter your dreams and expectations when we lose before we get to the Final 4. Sorry, fellas.)

After that I am sure we would lose MM then all be disappointed in our small recruiting class. And since getting so far in the NCAA our expectations are set on us getting a 4* center who is 6' 11" 265lb
