My eyebrows were just raised when I heard suggestions that the team should place academics as the benchmark....I don't think they should be compromise integrity whatesoever or the promotion of academics, but the benchmark for the NIU football squad should be chips

Fair enough. I'd rather the benchmark be wins, but if you want it to be chips, then I'm all in on that.

HOw about this, smart guys with talent play better than dumb guys with talent. Football requires creative instincts and the ability to learn a playbook, formations and how you are supposed to carry out your role and react to what your opponent is doing.

I'd take the former before the latter
