General Talk
I felt we needed a thread for general talk. Trash talking, discussion, whatever you want. If not, mods, please move,
Anyways, Xavier defeats Dayton and the Jimmy Carter streak continues!
Dayton has not defeated Xavier at X's home court since 1981.

Question. I liked the team the last few years but, this year the team was gutted by Graduation & transfers (Wells & Lyons). I know the freshman Semaj (sp) is good but are their any difference making recruits on X's horizon??
This team would have been a serious player again if the transfers stayed and Semaj came in.

2012 was a rough year for Xavier (and that's saying something since we made the Sweet 16). We had the post-brawl, Lyons decided to transfer, Wells was expelled, and 2 of our recruits for this season were academically ineligible.
That left the team with only 8 scholarship players. I believe it was ESPN who had our 2012 recruits as one of the top 20 in the nation. Anyway, next season should be much better. Those two ineligible guys (Reynolds- PF, Davis- sharpshooting SG) will be able to play. We bring in a big center transfer from Western Michigan along with the #81 best recruit 4 star (Scout's rankings) Brandon Randolph, a PG from California who went surprisingly unnoticed by Pac 12 teams. We also have a 3 star SF.
For 2014, so far we have a verbal for 4 star Melvin Swift from Texas, who is also in Scout's Top 100. Kid has some amazing dunks on Youtube.
I do believe that Randolph will come in and be a starter for the team next year, because he is a scorer, which the team definitely is lacking this year.

Also, this a very young Xavier team. 1 freshman and 2 sophomores start. 2013-14 should be a much better year for X and, barring any other problems and if Christon doesn't jump to the nba, 2014-15 could be a monster year for Xavier.

RE: General Talk
Good to hear, I was getting nervous. We definately need strong top heavy teams to add with the Basketball7

Yeah, no need to be nervous. Xavier is the last team of the potential additions you need to worry about. Our sustained success has built a high level program

Definitely. As far as things go in non-BCS conferences, it should definitely be Xavier >= Gonzaga > Butler/VCU.
I would not be surprised if Xavier is a perennial favorite in the C7, even if they aren't the strongest potential member at the moment.
