The backcourt traps were very effective with our guards/forwards forcing UTEP turnovers or not allowing them to get their offense started. They had to use multiple timeouts to avoid a turnover.

I hope UAB can build on this. The press may be our new weapon. Our 6'4"-6'6" guys might benefit and it sure keyed our comeback tonight. It also seemed like UTEP players looked tired during the last 10 minutes.

Great win! Congratulations to our players, coaches and fans. It was a lot of fun going home with the W!

As effective as our trap on them was down the stretch, I was shocked that we didnt keep on doing it during OT. I know we got the lead right out of the shoot in OT, but since it had been so effective, I hoped we would keep putting the hammer down on them. Fortunately, they started miss firing and we scored when we got the ball. Maybe Haase was afraid that our pressure would lead to some more fouls and keep UTEP in the game/foul out more of our guys.

IMHO our lack of depth played into that decision. When we lost Preston the press would have become a high risk. Remember Fahro was playing with four also.

Does anyone remember the last season we had a full roster or even close to a full roster? Was it under Anderson? I'm just used to us not having one and it is getting old fast.

RE: The losing streak is over!!
Well, assuming almost everybody stays, which I would say is pretty likely with the number of Juniors we currently have, and KC comes back, and the new class all shows up, we should have a full roster next season. By my count we will have:

Swing
Purifoy
Williams
KC
Quincy
Fahro
Hoopy
Rucker
+ the 5 new guys

I would be pretty shocked if most of these guys left.(Hoopy is really the only one that wouldn't come as a surprise if he decided to go somewhere is)

The year Davis screwed Reggie Huffman out of his scholarship to give it to that cokehead transfer from Indiana.

2011-12

12 eligible for playing time, including Herb, Hamga & ASW. 1 ineligible - O'brien

8 guys played more that 10 minutes a game. 3 guys played 32 or more minutes a game.

2006-07

10 guys played 12 minutes or more a game. Nobody played more than 28 minutes per game, and after Eddins went down, only Marvette McDonald was over 23 minutes per game.

I think he means more than 7 active players. Not including the 4 or 5 practice squad members we gave scholarships to.

I totally agree. The only players that should have logged under 10-12 minutes a game last year were Herb & Hoopy. Instead we had Todd, Beas & ASW as our 3 guys to look good getting off the bus.
