Six OTs in the last three games in Birmingham. Chew on that for a minute.

Geography be damned, I love this UAB vs UTEP basketball rivalry and it has become that. I hope UAB is back on top of its game soon and consistantly because its good for the conference and thats the kind of program UAB has been and will be again. But man I hate losing. Ugh. Congrats to UAB though.

RE: UTEP at UAB: A Gentlemen's Game
In 2006, I went to the C-USA tournament in Memphis with a group of family and friends. The first night we were eating at the Blues City Cafe when my father suffered a seizure and collapsed. A doctor from UTEP was also there at the cafe and immediately took over care of my dad. She stayed with him until the paramedics had him stabilized and loaded into the ambulance. I will be eternally grateful to her as she was our angel at a very dark moment. The group of UTEP supporters there with her were also very kind.

I love this series and hope it gets to continue. My family will always hold UTEP in high regard.

On behalf of all UAB basketball fans, thank you. I have grown accustomed to feeling that if a UAB - UTEP basketball game doesn't go into OT, then it was an abnormal encounter...My God, words cannot describe what it's like seeing two teams in your favorite conference go at it like this time after time after time. There's much to be proud of where both schools are concerned in relation. This one definitely gets my vote for "Conference USA Game Of The Week", and a nominee for Conference Game Of The Year.

While I'm sure UAB will redevelop intense games with ODU and Charlotte, I think UAB vs UTEP could become one of the bigger CUSA basketball rivalries in the future (assuming UTEP stays).

Proof that the best rivalries are naturally occurring, not manufactured. I can't remember the last UAB-UTEP game that wasn't memorable. Is that a tautology?

Well, I gotta say, I still think that was funny. Think it made one of the Cusa "best" quotes on a thread a few weeks ago. Anyway, Memphis senior Chris Crawford said it and will be back in Hattiesburg next week for the last time.

UAB has always been a top basketball program from the get go, a long-time heated rivalry with Memphis, Louisville, Marquette, and Cincy from the old days. It's got to be frustrating as hell for their fans to see what's happened to the program lately. But, I think the tradition and history will make a comeback. USM, UAB, Charlotte, ODU, and UTEP can make for a formidable basketball conference.

The talk of the MWC expanding into Texas has died down. Once Boise St and SDSU went back to make 12 for a champ game in FB, the interest by the MWC to expand came to a stop. Unless they lose a team or two or have the chance to add BYU, highly unlikely, I don't think UTEP is going anywhere. The next to leave C-USA will most likely be either Tulsa or USM for the BE. Never say never but that's what I think for now.

We also had 21 turnovers that were caused by UAB. I have a ton of respect for UAB but I hate it when we have to play you at your place.
