UNT On Threshold of Bldg. Several Venues...Plus Baseball Stadium
(this information from a poster on GMG.com)...

Institutions are required to submit capital projects greater that $1 million planned for the FY2013-2017 schools year. I was looking over the plan and saw some interesting requests:

New Construction Baseball Stadium 12,000,000

New Construction Construct Track and Field Stadium 5,600,000

New Construction UNT Hotel and Conference Center 82,500,000

New Construction Visitor's Center 2,500,000

Addendum: Most of the above figures are most likely minimum estimated costs at best for some of the venues but still some semblance of figures have to be turned into the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.

No, I'm sure he was referring to "Tulane football attendance."

I've always thought UNT is a sleeping giant.

just to be clear these things are nothing but a wish list and just because it is on the wish list does not mean it will be funded or built

there is a chance 100% of the things on that list for every school could not be built anytime soon if tuition revenue bonds are not issued as was done for the last two year budget cycle and I believe the one before that as well

which is why many if not all of these items are on similar list as far back as 2009 if not further

so the funding and construction of these things is far from certain now or long into the future depending on what the legislature allows

That is technically not true for several items on that list that have been already funded or allocated funding strictly from the university. THECB requires notification for all capital allocation projects greater than $1M regardless of whether the state is involved in the funding of the project or not.

Typical TodgeRdoge.. story of your life. Did someone from UNT steal your dog or something? Your constant involvement in these threads have became somewhat of ongoing joke.

take the football stadium as an example.....even though it was half funded with a dedicated student fee and with the promise of private funding or athletics revenue covering the other half it still had to go to the state legislature for approval and if the state legislature had not approved it then it would not have been built

the only joke is that north Texas state fans flat refuse to understand how things work and then when what they expect to happen does not happen they sit around with their collective heads in their asses refusing to listen to why it did not happen

the THECB is a powerless state agency they only do the research and make recommendations to the legislature it is the legislature that actually gives approval or not

Like other State Universities in Texas are required to do, that is probably a correct statement. So what's you point. The stadium and funding was approved.

I think TodgeRodge is a permanent student at UNT, having attended for probably 10 or more years on someone elses dime and knows all of the ins and outs of how to a free education for years, and years, and years.....................He's bitter about something at UNT.

Seriously...what terrible thing did UNT do to you? You spent your whole life wanting to go there and couldn't get accepted? Got kicked out cause you sucked? Raped by a UNT grad? Your obsession is flattering.

He went to Texas St & Houston too ( I think). We traded some PMs, he seems like the type that isn't happy anywhere.

He did not attend Texas State. He is from either TCU or Texas Tech. He definitely has a dislike for UNT.

How does one get a negative 70 rating in 267 posts. He at least excels there.

I know that they have some conceptual, but I can't find anyone that will willingly risk their job to snap a picture for me..

I know, being that it is UNT, it will be one on the ( if not the first) LEED certified college baseball complex in the nation.

I would expect something to leak out around the time that the initial opening season stuff for CUSA starts.
