I’m going 2 feel the wrath from “Cane fans but....

Until & If all this conference negotiation,
merger, acquisition, & new affiliations is finished
& I assume hopefully by 7/1/13,
because of new TV contracts
& bowl TV contract deadlines that need 2 B met.

Until then,
I’d rather TU just “hold” & stay in Conf USA
then 2 make a move that collapses on itself w/n a few years.

So far, Conf USA has been very good 4 TU’s Athletic Dept.
Since TU joined the conference in 2005,
TU has won more conference championships
than any other Conf USA school
4 TU’s geographical location
having 4 games w/ Texas teams,
2 in the state of Texas each year is good 4 TU.

Just looking @ attendance numbers
N Tex & UTSA both draw better home crowds
on a consistent basis vs. SMU & Houston
& IF u rub a crystal ball
Both N Tex & UTSA have much
better upside than Houston & SMU
in terms of growing fan base & support
L Tech has much better fan support than Tulare

I think TU would continue to excel
in winning, recruiting, & succeeding
IF they stayed in Conf USA
The west division is a natural ‘fit” 4 TU
though I am concerned about the East

I think it’d B a HUGE challenge 4 TU 2 try & maintain
this Boise St “target” on their back status
Hey Boise St made the WAC better
MayB TU can do the same 4 Conf USA

247Sports is reporting that USM is "on the Big East's radar". Doubt it happens but hey at least it's being discussed.

FWIW--the rumors are that Tulsa is a done deal, but not announced and S Miss is next up on the wish list. Maybe Tulsa is waiting to see what the TV contract numbers are before signing off.

I tend to agree with this. Any moves that result in Cincy and UCONN to the ACC will also include a lot more movement. Perhaps not all at the same time but the other moves will follow very closely.

Double dated a few times. Henry always had his way with words with the ladies.

y

USM has proven itself more than once that they can play with big boys. Past Cusa Championships, 17 straight winning seasons (12-2 to 0-12 was just very poor coaching.....USM has solved that problem by hiring a new staff). Most polls have picked ECU as team to beat next season but USM will be the dark horse. USM supported ECU to Cusa and ECU need to support USM to BE.

18 straight.

Sorry 18.......but still pulling for USM to BE........As UCF and ECU (Championships) as well as Memphis and Tulane (top markets) there leaves very little left for USM (past Championships) to prove in Cusa East. (Again, haters relax as it's only an opinion).

I felt like I was reading Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.

I'm going to try and translate.

Quote:"I will be stricken by the anger of my fellow Golden Hurricane brethren, but I would like to offer my opinion. Unless this realignment drama comes to a cease and desist before important dates are to be met, I personally would much rather stay in Conference USA than to move to what appears to be an inferior conference. Conference USA deserves the University of Tulsa's dedication, as it has allowed Tulsa to garner more accolades than any other school since their induction in 2005. Also, the proximity of playing Texas schools, is fortuitous to the growth of Tulsa, as I am knowledgeable in the fact that UNT and UTSA will bring much larger crowds, and have much higher potential than Houston and SMU. This will allow Tulsa further dominate and grow, in the comforting shroud of C-USA. As an aside, I believe LA Tech to draw more interest than Tulane.

This conference (rather, division, as I fear for the progress of our eastern foes) is perfect for Tulsa to continue their Boise State like dynasty, by fostering TU athletics, recruiting, and attendance in an easier conference that should prove no problem for us.

TL;DR HHOOTter wants to be a big fish in a small pond
