BG should "promote" Christopher to some fund raising position, and find a real AD.

BG has an excellent recruiting class going and they are a team on the rise. Clawson has built BG the right way, taking a couple of years to do it instead of trying to satisfy Torch on day 1 with a bunch of suspect recruits that Brandon was bringing into the program.

Whoa, whoa, don't get all emotional Brian. Don't want you to start bawling.

Of course you misrepresent me b/c you're too much of a fool to understand the level of English I use. But I dare you point out where I was such a staunch supporter of Brandon.

Fact is you just don't know much about this stuff, so you can't fathom anyone departing from your groupthink. But hey don't worry, even beta-males can find occasional moments of happiness.

This is why people start threads about you Torch...Brian...a guy with whom I have had a number of disagreements with over the years, states a cogent argument in support of the job Clawson has done. You respond with nothing more than insults. "Unh..unh...you're stupid" is an understandable response from a six year-old. I'm going to assume you're at least eight and ask you to stop being such a tool.

With respect to Clawson. He's done a hell of job and he deserves an extension. The press release mentions new Field turf for the Perry Center (indoor facility) and the long awaited renovations to Doyt Perry Stadium. This is an exciting time for BGSU football and I'm geeked as hell.

Brian's argument was that I wanted a repeat of Brandon's approach. How is that cogent? C'mon answer up Flipper. Or just STFU.

Quote:I'm going to assume you're at least eight and ask you to stop being such a tool.

Yeah, why don't you do it on one of the threads about me? Damn, what a bunch of pathetic losers. Do you really think I care what you think?

Quote:With respect to Clawson. He's done a hell of job and he deserves an extension.

Well there's an impeccable cogent argument. 03-lmfao

No wonder you have trouble handling criticism.

Of course you are, b/c you have low standards. "Show me a good loser, and I'll show you a loser."

I like seeing coaches sticking with their schools here in the MAC, so hopefully Clawson (and Enos) can be with their schools for the long haul. Solich is a good example, though his age would probably have prevented him from working up to a big time program like Nebraska again.

Torch..you are such a horse's ass. I guess the proof of my low standards is that I've bothered with responding to you. I see no point in further wasting my time, so I will no longer do so.

Clawson hasn't done much to impress, although it could be argued things are going in the right direction.

If so, then he should stick around. But, there's no reason to give a contract extension at this point.

I was not trying to make an argument that you wanted a repeat of Brandon's approach. I was not trying to bring up anything other than the fact that because of Brandon's approach it was going to take a few years to build the program up the right way. Seeing your posts over the last few years about Clawson, I've got the impression that you expected him to turn things around on day one. My comments were just that Clawson was doing it the right way and it was going to take time, even though you wanted it to happen right away. That has nothing to do with me thinking you thought any way towards Brandon.

Now go ahead and flame away Torch. It's what you do.

Oh, you just wrote it that way. Duh, what was I thinking.

Quote: I was not trying to bring up anything other than the fact that because of Brandon's approach it was going to take a few years to build the program up the right way. And what exactly have I written to justify that?

I have no problem giving good coaches time. I've been complimentary towards the Texans for keeping Kubiak, and scoffed when Czabe and others suggested that UT should fire Mack Brown prior to 2005.

Clawson has had quite a number of years at BG and still has an overall losing record, and no wins of note except over a 9-4 Troy team and Ohio w/ 14 players out b/c of injury. What exactly is building a program "the right way" if you aren't actually, you know, winning?

Of course you'd actually have to read and remember what I write, and it's much easier to insult me then run away crying:

Quote:Now go ahead and flame away Torch. It's what you do.

No Bryan it's what you claim I do b/c you can't get past your groupthink and actually understand someone else's opinion.

Clawson's returning team and current recruits look promising. I don't deny that. But, Clawson has delivered very little in 4 years. It's reasonable to expect something before giving extensions running 5 years into the future.

Lotta talk from people who can't show anything they say. It's all in B&W if it's there. But it isn't there.

I do miss Oddball though, need a few more Toledo fans who aren't such crybabies.

03-banghead

In fairness, Roos is 13-6, 4-2 in the MAC. That's not shabby.

Better than 22-28, which apparently is difficult for several people to understand.

It is entertaining to see just how deep a whole someone will dig instead of admitting they were wrong.

Guess that's why they call them "losers".
