No Bryan it's what you claim I do b/c you can't get past your groupthink and actually understand someone else's opinion.

No, it is what you do. You like to try and rip and Brian because he actually KNOWS what he talks about.

In this instance Brian is 100% correct. This extension was well deserved...in fact..it may have been overdue.

It is entertaining to see just how deep a whole someone will dig instead of admitting they were wrong.

Guess that's why they call them "losers".

Coming from the guy who NEVER comes out of his whole [sic] to admit he is wrong...that's pretty funny. 03-wink

RE: Clawson receives contract extention
Clawson has turned teams to winners wherever he has gone as head coach. It was fun to see a BG team (or any MAC team) with a legit defense last year. His overall record is tainted by one particularly terrible year, otherwise there has been a decent progression. BG was a late drive away from winning the East this year. My only knock on The Claw is I've heard from inside sources that he puts himself out there for other gigs fairly often; or used to. Maybe he's settling down.

Hmmm...why would someone who "doesn't care" what others think spend so much time trying to engage them in a conversation? I could understand it coming from a six year-old...but an adult?

Ridiculing your stupidity is not engaging you in conversation, regardless of what your wife calls it.

No need to offer an extension to a coach w/ a .333 average, wh/ was what Clawson was prior to this year. Well, maybe if you're a loser...

How long did his contract go before it was extended? BG does seem to be improving, and they've done that without a top-notch QB.

Clawson first signed for the 2009 season, so I'm assuming this is his first big extension.

Based on recruiting and academic performance alone he definitely deserves some sort of extension. Our class this year (on paper) might be one of the best BG has ever had. (again, on paper).

Obviously his first few seasons (especially 10-11) were some weak years, but in retrospect those seem like growing pains for the much more solid 2012 season. BG may not be getting the big upsets that previous coach Brandon got over some bigger schools (Pitt, Minnesota) but Clawson certainly has the players winning the games they should be winning. Brandon teams could lose against just about ANYBODY, especially a Buffalo team who was down 20 points in the 4th quarter with about 10 minutes left in the game.

I'm not keen on our OC; a lot of plays just seem boneheaded or too conservative from time to time. That's not entirely Clawson's fault, but it's still his staff. However, I certainly enjoy the overall stability right now and am willing to keep it to see how far Clawson can take it. If his program does take off, maybe this extension will keep him here. If he decides to leave, then well, he leaves.
