Rock bottom notoriety?
Is being singled out on Yahoo!Sports the rock bottom? At least the intro page uses the term "a major college team."

When I first learned of the results and futility late sat nite on espn, I was unable to find the words or thoughts to express myself ---- a very rare moment indeed for cybes. 03-banghead

there really is not much which can be said.

The media has really beat up NIU pretty good this year.

If you want to be big time and enjoy the ups, you also have to take the scrutiny of your failings as well. It's how it goes.

If they weren't beating us up, they wouldn't notice us at all.

Scoring only 4 pts in a half isn't just failing, it's grounds for cleaning house and a formal apology to the Huskie Faithful.

Anyone hear Monty's post-game comments? After the loss to WMU, he did apologize to the fans. I'm just curious as what his comments were after the EMU game. It's gotta be really tough for him to do interviews after games like that.

I have always, ALWAYS tried to side with giving the NIU Athletes the benefit of the doubt. No name calling, no posts about bad performance because hey, they're all going onto things beside sports in life. NIU is but one chapter. Sometimes you lose big. Sometimes you score the upset.

Tongue held for now. And I'll get over it soon enough. But this is supposed to be the highest level of amateur athletics in the country.

It's both mind numbing and further boggles the mind 01-lauramac2 to consider the probability of five young men on D1 bball scholarships who have played some form of organized team basketball for an entire lifetime & have practiced together for months now could repeatedly/consistently miss so many times... it nearly defies logic and probabilities.

Where are all the math majors out there? What are the odds of missing 30 shots in a row if you are averaging 25% from the 3 point line? .25 to the 30th power?
Is this right? .000000000000000008.67% You have a better chance of winning the lotto.

These things happen. Even more embarrasing. A couple of years ago, St Louis ended up with only 20 points for an entire game in an Atlantic 10 tilt. And it wasn't against Temple, or Xavier. It was against George Washington. And not the good GW either.

St Louis hit 10 percent from the floor in that game. And that was under Rick Majerus.

St Louis recovered and so will you.

That'd be .75^30...or .0179% Unlikely, but still more likely than winning the lotto. What you posted is the likelihood of making 30 in a row...which I think you can just round down to 0 for this basketball team.

Makes me believe that the convo was a great investment. Any chance of selling it, moving the BB program back into the fieldhouse and putting the money into our FB program?
