RE: Saturday Night Ball
Ohio will be graduating the best senior class since... forever? I can't think of any other class at Ohio that had 4 players as strong as Cooper, Offutt, Keely and Baltic. There WILL be a drop off.

Stevie Taylor is no Cooper, but who is? That being said, I love Stevie's energy but I don't love the idea of him running the Point for 30+ minutes a night. Same for Johnson and Hall, good contributors off the bench but not sure about starting. Smith is great on defense but brings little on offense.

Christian inherited a very good team, we'll find out next year if he was able to turn that into a very good program based on how his recruits and transfers contribute. I'm cautiously hopeful.

I agree with most of what you are saying, but I am much higher on Hall and Johnson. If they had the opportunity this year, I think the entire MAC would know their names. Hall was crucial in the postseason run last year.

1. I'm sure Stevie Taylor is a great individual. But I don't think he will be starting at PG next year. I've only seen him in person once, and in spurts on replays and tv, but I don't see him as a starting PG. He does a great job in his role though.

2. Ohio loses 4 experienced seniors...yet they still have solid guys on their bench, and multiple guys coming in that are likely capable. I don't see anyone in the MAC leap frogging them as a top 2 team yet. Toledo, EMU, WMU and Kent all have a long ways to go if they want to leap frog Ohio. Of course, the gap could be closed if one of those 3 (who are the most likely IMO) got better, and Ohio regressed quite a bit, which is possible, just not likely IMO.

3. Ohio is gonna be good next year...maybe not as good as they've been in the last two years...but still very good.

FYI...
Toledo has 7 guys averaging 10+ mpg coming back next year,
Akron has 8,
Kent St. has 6,
WMU has 6,
EMU has 7,
Miami has 9,
CMU has 7,
Ball St. has 7
NIU has 12
bgSUCKS has 5
Buffalo has 9

So 8 teams have more players coming back averaging 10+ mpg than OU; 2 teams have the same # as OU; and 1 has less than OU.

Awesome NIU brings back the entire team that scored 4 pts in a half. The rest of the MAC is trembling.

Reminds me of a coach of a bad basketball team that said "the good news is that we have everyone back next year. The bad news is, we have everyone back next year."

Define a team by 20 minutes at basketball at your own peril. Ignore their improvement demonstrated in other games if you wish. Just don't expect to look like you know what you're talking about.

I can recognize improvements as well. NIU has made great strides by doubling their win total from last year at this point in the season.

It went straight downhill when you lost the Norwegians. That one guy could jump out of the gym. Something in that Scandanavian water-a lot of Olympic HJ champs are Scandanavian.

Wouldn't their jumps heights drop when competing in, say, Greece or DeKalb?
