Thread for songs stuck in my head? Perfect. This one has been rambling round there for the past couple of days.

I can't stand the sound of that "Cha-Cha Slide" garbage! Once I hear it, it stays in my head until some real music is played that I can hear to dislodge it!

Thanks Blue_T, great song. Time to dust off the Tower of Power albums. Was just digging on that AltJ track last night also, lyrics are pretty intense.

Right now in my head is that Macklemore, Thrift Shopping song. It's like a guilty pleasure.

And the rest of that AltJ album is solid so far as well. Reminds me a bit of In Rainbows.

I have a four year old and thankfully I can't see that video at the moment. If its the Hot Dog song, you need to be banned for posting that torture. Damn it now its stuck in my head....

Haha, myself and about 3 or 4 others sang the Hot Dog song at work the other day. My 7.5 month old freakn loves that show. Why or how he loves that one in particular at 7 months is beyond me.

Had this song in my mind for nearly 2 months during summer. It's good to listen while exercising specially during walks or running.

Good call. I can't even listen to that or (like you) I'll have it playing in my head for a long time.

One of my favorite songs in 2011. So much soul in Garbus' voice and when the brass kicks in I get goose bumps.

Good pick, Cr8n. Speaking of 2011 and soul, I'll be forever thankful for my introduction to Charles Bradley.

And thank you for the introduction now.

If you've never seen/heard of them. Local to MD but played ECU a ton check out the Kelly Bell Band.

Here is one of their shows at Dr. Unks (RIP)

Nice, such a clean sound. Great vocals too. I will be listening to them as I study for midterms tonight.

Next up, The Orwells:

Man, that's weird to me seeing kids that young rockn those outfits and music.

I just realized I was at that Kelly Bell Video show I posted as I had a weird flash back remember they were filming for their videos that night.

I'm old school, growing up in the eighties while listening (still) to 70's prog rock. I thought I would mention it because my daughter has been following my footsteps since she was a toddler. (She's the only 11 year old girl on planet earth who knows who Argent and Wishbone Ash are) :). Anyway, here is one of her favorites, and it is sure to stick into your heads.

ODUBB. A couple of newer bands you might dig are Portugal, The Man and The Black Angles.

These guys pretty much melted my face off in 08. Highly suggest seeing live if you can.

Thanks Cr8n. I've heard these. Good stuff. There is still some good prog rock out there, but I do sorely miss the sound of a Hammond B3 growling through a stack of Leslie tubes.

Got to see these guys for free at the Kennedy Center (Millenium Stage does a free concert almost everyday I think). Very... interesting style. You can watch the full performance (here), but this is one of my favorites of the night.
