Unfortunately we've got Cincy, WKU, and Auburn poking around our recruits.

The UTSA rivals site is still pretty brand new (since mid-December 2012) but it's there now.

We are currently at 16 commits. DOC said the most we would sign this year is 21-22. I don't see us going over that unless we find a few guys that grey shirt.

Tyler Williams will be put on scholarship ths year and will take one of our 25 spots. I think Tyler Combs who enrolled this month is a grey shirt from last year and counts in this years class.

FAU is currently at 25 recruits. Rivals/Scout has never been accurate with our recruiting.

247 is a least up to date.

That's why UTEP's strategy is to recruit players nobody else wants. Brilliant!02-13-banana

We have some more visitors this weekend so that total might go up a little. Got a 4-star visiting and some 3's.

RE: CUSA RIvals recruiting summary as of 1/25
Of course ODU is not in the mix this year, but it has been interesting watching how recruiting changes from the FCS to FBS level. FCS recruits will generally wait til the last minute to commit, hoping an FBS offer will come. When it doesn't, they go ahead and committ. FBS kids seem to commit much earlier to FBS programs, then decommit if a better offer comes along. ODU has had several 2-3 star recruits decommit after higher profile schools offered. Very nerve wracking and proves once again you can't count your chickens.... I haven't done the work up, but I think ODU would rank favorably with at least the mid tier CUSA teams in terms of # of stars. Our total # of recruits is around 30, which reflects in part the increased number of schollies we have to offer this year.

Once ODU becomes an established program, things will become less volatile. Most programs avg 1 decommittment every year or two. Marshall had a WR decommit for the 1st time since 09 last week. Usually unless you have a four star or a decent player that fills someones needs you will most likely keep the player you recruited.

Then there is always that kid that sees the "Bright Lights" of the BCS program and will do anything to go there. Even if it means sitting on the bench 3 years and playing special teams his last year. Those you can't do anything about. You have to remember these are 17-19 year old kids that don't always make the correct decisions. You just have to hope they have decent people around them to help guide them.

247 has Marshall at #1 in CUSA...

I haven't completely figured out their system, but I kind of like it.
