No sense in getting butthurt. Players flip all the time. Hope he has fun with the cows. Let's move on.

mullens put up monster numbers last year. and we are his third commitment in a couple of weeks . . . 04-jawdrop

Quote:The 6-foot-1, 170-pounder passed for 3,649 yards with 40 touchdowns and just seven interceptions as a senior.

Mullens -- whose Twitter profile now lists him as a Southern Miss commit -- once again gives the Golden Eagles 19 verbal commitments for 2013. National signing day is Feb. 6.

You flipped a QB who was already not even the best QB in our 2013 class (that would be Briscoe). I think Mullens is a good QB so congrats, but we have more then enough talent at QB.

UAB needs more spots for OL and DL because that is where our real deficits lie.

I'll take the 40 TDs any day.

Even if we were bringing him in to be behind Briscoe, it hurts a lot. Especially since we lost him to USM and will have to face him every year. Hurry up and put the Eagles out west 03-wink

Perception. Would you guys care if you lost a commit to us? I'm sure you would, even if you had supposedly better recruits, just seeing "USM commit switches to UAB" would probably have some USM folks upset. Same holds true here.

They're 17 or 18 - not legally capable of signing a binding contract in this state. Of course they're going to change their minds.

I would much rather lose a QB to you than UM or MS, both of which have happened in the past couple of weeks.

UAB has far more problems than losing a qb to USM. Looks like serious problems in recruiting. What's going on?

That's what we're wondering. Everyone is going to have a few recruits get flipped but why so many, so fast?

Interestingly, McGee seems upbeat about it and seems to think it is going to be an outstanding class. Drew Champlin seems to think UAB has some "silent" commitments that we are trying to keep low to prevent any poaching.

I'm pretty happy to get Mullins.

Is it just me, or does anybody else see a little bit of Austin Davis is the way he plays (delivery, footwork, running style)?

So what if he goes to Moo U.. He'll ride the pine if Danny Boy wants to prove a point.. I really hope we got to Starkville and we burn the b*tch down in 2014.. Then curb stomp that ass the next season.

Someone tried to suggest that on BlazerTalk but got shot down as a "sunshine pumper". Maybe McGee over-recruited? We did have 3 RB commits for this class, so it's possible.
