Timing of the game sucks for me as I've made a commitment to the Midtown Music festival in Atlanta that weekend. I would love to come to Harrisonburg for the game. I've spent alot of time in Shenandoah camping and backpacking. Should be a good game for us to judge our competitiveness as a start up. If we keep it within 3 touchdowns, I'll consider it a successful experience for us.

You are correct. We don't see too much of Cornbread these days. He has been doing color commentary for the Celtics radio broadcasts. Unfortunately, he hasn't made many friends among the fans with some of his comments over the past several years.

Looking forward to making the trip. It's a very easy drive from Charlotte.

It's funny that the ODU fans are now up in arms about this when they pulled the plug on us.

My first college game was Maryland vs UNCC with Maxwell and Lew Massey. It was either the next year or two years later that Charlotte went to the Final 4. They had two 1st round picks and a 2nd rounder on that Final Four team. Pretty impressive for a program that was only playing D-I ball for 7 years.

My first college basketball game was Davidson against Richmond at the old Richmond arena. Lefty was coaching at Davidson and had Mike Malloy and Jerry Kroll. 1968-69 Davidson was as good as anyone in the country.

8-4 is the minimum requirement to make the playoffs now and if the Dukes can't win 8 against this creampuff schedule then they don't deserve postseason.

Glad to see my confidants are up to par. They told me this was going to happen and it came to pass. I'll start working on them to get Conference info ans see how this works out.

I'll definitely poke my head back over here as the game draws nearer. 100% making the trip to Harrisonburg though. A fall day in the mountains is hard to beat.

I have a coworker that bought a mountain house at Bryce Resort, so I have a free place to stay. I'll make a nice weekend out of it. The trip to ODU would have just been a day trip because I don't really care to spend much time in eastern Virginia.

Bryce is about 45 mins away if ya come the back way to the burg. It is a nice area and that time of year will be great.

You should both send your beer to ODU - they really did us a favor, IMO.

Stoss is stating that JMU will visit Charlotte in 2014. I assume that this means that JMU already knows that one of the OOC games on the schedule isn't happening - the away games are Maryland and Lehigh. Or JMU already knows that the 2014 CAA schedule ain't happening. Or Stoss is making assumptions without actually knowing stuff.

Stoss says the Charlotte game will not be an additional charge game- a freebie. We all need to remember this 7 game home slate should we go FBS and have a 5 game home schedule while we're transitioning.
