The $6.6 million renovation a few years ago was developed with the intent to be able to host a regional. Hosting a Regional is a little easier than the conference tournament, but shouldn't be too much of a problem at MT.
You forget about our "tertiary" grandstand out in centerfield :

Not saying you couldn't, but with USM and Rice's stadiums near at or above 5,000 and have proven they can fill it, with a good bid they'll win the bid most of the time. I mean they are top 30 programs, and have the fan bases to prove it. ECU does well to, but we are leaving and won't be allowed to host. Clark-LeClair is a first class park built at the cost around 13 million. The stands hold 3,000 and the outfield or "Jungle" as it is called can hold nearly another 3,000. The record is 5,584.
Here what 5,500 looks like
But, good luck, keep building and supporting your team.
UTEP and UNT don't play. So, 14 teams for next year?
Tulsa also does not play baseball.
Since the tourney is at Rice this year and ECU and Tulane will be on their way out, my guess is the tourney will be @ Southern Miss next year.
I doubt it; not after being in Pearl, MS the past 2 years. Wouldn't be surprised if one of the newbies (e.g., Middle Tennessee, Louisiana Tech) get it, provided they have quality facilities.
I doubt any of the newbies have the facilities to match rice or usm...also Pearl was an independent organization that had nothing to do with Southern Miss.
Yep, again this looks nice and has a larger capacity although MTSU is more centrally located. These would be good options to go along with Rice and Southern Miss.
How do the Florida schools facilities look?
