Thanks Rabonchild. I love the Charlotte addition. I could see them developing into a solid program. I really hope the people of Charlotte will come pack the stadium for you guys.

I see Charlotte, ODU, and MTSU developing into good rivalries for Marshall.

Is it a good thing that nobody has said FAU yet? I guess it's nice that nobody hates us, but kinda boring at the same time. Geez FIU, how are y'all able to live without having somebody to share a mutual hate with!?

I love to hate all things FAU except for maybe you. You root for the wrong team my friend 04-cheers

I'm curious. Is it the proximity of FAU & FIU that causes the hatred/rivarly?

We may have a QB battle this year considering how well the #2 QB did in our bowl game.

That said, I do think yall are the new CUSA addition I'd like to see us beat.

Otherwise, I want a win against Tulsa seeing as how we haven't beaten them since like 2006.

Both schools have mirrored each other for the most part since about 2000 in athletics. While neither was in the same confrence before starting Football once it got started it sort of seemed natural with the similar names and geographic proximity. Both are large public universitys.

On top of that FAU's 1st coach (Howard Schnellenberger) and FIU's 1st Coach (Don Strock) both workerd under Don Shula for the Dolphins. (Howard as OC, and Stock as QB) They decided to have an annual game and call it the Shula Bowl.

Both accelerated thier time line to move into FBS on behalf of the SBC to help the confrence stay afloat. FIU was already in as a member for everything else, and FAU got an all sports invite.

Both schools routinely go after the same level of recruits and many have an offer from both. The players really get behind it as its often that HS teammates wind up on the other side.

Its a very young rivalry and one that has a lot of potential.

I've talked to 3-4 Marshall fans down here and they seem pretty excited to have a game in their back yard every other year. Good people and all were ready to see Charlotte hit the field.

I'd take another stab at that name personally.

Why? There's a rivalry with that name already?

No, for one thing it sounds like something an old redneck would call a SWAC game and otherwise I just think you could probably do better.

Yep...I agree...

That wont be as difficult as you think to pull off.

ECU returns 19 starters, both kickers, new/former SEC DC as its DC, and 7-1 Cusa 2012 record (only lost to UCF who will be BE). Now judge for yourself based on facts and not opinion or looking throught color glasses.

What is that QB's name anyway? McHargue or something like that?
